Manchester United Attendance
Friday, 25th Sep 2015 10:57

Town's Capital One Cup third round tie at Old Trafford on Wednesday was watched by 56,607 fans.

Unusually the attendance wasn't announced on the night but the Premier League side's ticket office have given the figure above when responding to enquiries. Old Trafford's capacity is 75,731.

Around 4,800 Blues supporters made the trip for Town's first visit to United's stadium in 14 years.

Goals from Wayne Rooney, Andreas Pereira and Anthony Martial saw the home side to a 3-0 victory.

56,607? That's strange. Sounded more like 4,800 to me..

"One in ten of us singing, one in ten of us singing"

The Man U fans wee indeed a bunch of prawn-sandwich-munching, wait-to-be-entertained, false fans. Looks like Mr Keane got something right for once :)

According to local reports there were over 5400 town fans on the night. It was a great atmosphere and our fans were in fine form, except for 4 tw*ts standing 3 rows in front of me who were clearly drunk before the game started and spent the whole 90 mins looking right at the nearby Man U fans shouting vile and unprovoked abuse. Made worse by the fact that there was a dad next to them with his two young sons enduring the filth. Shame the stewards nearby turned a blind eye.

I actually sat in the Utd end with a friend of mine and yes apart from the odd moment all you could hear was the Ipswich fans.

But then I've also been to Portman Road in the early rounds of this competition against lower league opposition and the atmosphere is flat as hell as nobody really cares. So I'm sure it was the same for the Utd fans, whom I assure you are amongst the most vocal fans away from home I have ever known.

Well done to the Town fans who travelled to manchester on a Wednesday night. Sadly I couldn't make it as was away on holiday. A useful addition in terms of cash for the club as well.
