Burton Visit Moves to Good Friday
Wednesday, 29th Jun 2016 15:21

Town’s first ever competitive game at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium has switched to Good Friday, April 14th, with a 7.45pm kick-off, having originally been scheduled for the following afternoon.

The move is no surprise with the Blues in action at home to Newcastle United on Easter Monday and with manager Mick McCarthy having previously switched similarly scheduled games to Good Friday to give his players an additional day of recovery.

Town’s only previous game at the Pirelli Stadium was a 3-0 pre-season victory over the then-non-league Brewers in July 2007 with Matt Richards and Alan Lee (2, 1 pen) on the scoresheet.

The Blues’ full fixture list for the 2016/17 season can be found on TWTD here.

Was bang up for a Saturday away trip to a new ground.

Won't be going to this now.

Excellent - much better for me and a ground I haven't been too. COYB.

More importantly than any of our travel plans - better for the squad so I'm happy with that.

Slowerball - I love how you got a down vote for that! Ha!

Really looking forward to this one! Ramshackle little ground with TERRACING! Gonna be a brilliant away day, this one...

Great to have retracing. However, there's no room to swing a cat in there

Not too far for me, however Rail replacement coaches could cause everyone an issue

WTF? I expected it to be moved to good friday, but why the 7.45pm kick off?

Selfish fookers. Not a thought for the fans. Why do the club let Mick get away with it? Few other clubs do this. Next one he'll try to move is QPR away to the following Tuesday.

Shame it has been moved to an evening kick off but good that the players will have extra time to recover before the home game against Newcastle on the Monday. Really looking forward to this away game, good to see the likes of Burton up in the Championship!

Grr, no chance for train travellers to get home after the game. Might have to make a weekend of it.
