Early Bird Season Ticket Deadline Today
Monday, 18th Jul 2016 10:00

The extended deadline for buying season tickets at the early bird prices passes at 3pm this afternoon.

The initial early bird deadline passed on Monday 11th April with sales around seven per cent down on the same point last summer.

Season ticket sales were then halted until the Blues’ divisional status was confirmed, as is usually the case, but in early May they were then put back on sale at the early bird rates.

Explaining the decision at the time, MD Ian Milne told the club site: “[Owner] Marcus [Evans] has decided to keep the prices as they are until July 18th.

“There are going to be some fantastic games next season, especially with some big clubs coming down from the Premier League and keeping the prices frozen through the summer gives supporters that extra time to take advantage of the best prices at Portman Road.”

Season tickets can be purchased online via ITFC Direct or at Planet Blue.

A lot less than last season I would imagine what has changed to persuade people to purchase a season ,,absolutely nothing wonder how many are wishing they hadn't.

“There are going to be some fantastic games next season, especially with some big clubs coming down from the Premier League"

Precisely Mr Milne, and with the current squad and lack of investment in it, we will not be equipped to compete with those 'big clubs'. For those weighing up whether or not to part with their hard earned cash for a season ticket, there is no attraction to do so. Look at the top 6 from last season, Brighton aside, they all disproportionately invested in their squads.
What are we waiting for? wait until the last minute, look desperate, push up the cost and price ourselves out.

I am normally a glass half full guy, but I fear I have a leak in vessel and my faith is dripping from the bottom.

After 20 years + I have not renewed my season ticket !
Reason 1 No entertainment.
Reason 2 No ambition.from the club
Reason 3 The managers tactics Hoofball

I will be more than happy to come back when the above changes.

Being honest I won't be able to get to that many home games as I would like simply due to my gf having a baby recently. But I really couldn't care less about big clubs coming down from the premier league. Apart from Inter Milan and Norwich I have never been really fussed about who we play as I am too concerned with our line-up.

If you really want to excite supporters into parting with their money then mention the fact that we will play exciting football with gifted players rather the fact that three clubs not good enough for the PL will play us next season.

" Rumours 8-9,000 "

Well that's absolute rubbish as we were 7% down on the sales ages back.

Must be around 12-12.500 mark which isn't a disaster.

I have renewed again, but purely for the social with mates on the day, the football has almost become a side issue. I am normally very positive going into the new season but all I can see is more of the same, negative, boring football to sit and endure. IMO the club is on a downward spiral and unless ME is prepared to invest some money, not Tens & tens of Millions but 3-4 Million into the playing squad I think we are going to really struggle.

How about some form of bonus for those who did renew before the original date? A free ticket against Stevenage would be good!!

I would guess that initial sales were not that great which is why the deadline was extended. I have heard the 7% down figure before but don't know where that came from or how reliable it is.

What I would say is what has changed between the original expiry date and now to make people want to buy a season ticket when they didn't want to buy three months ago? Nobody can have been inspired by our transfer dealings for example!

Not sure why folk would sign up for more of the same? I guess it's a habitual or 'proper fan' thing, but is anyone convinced this season will be any different? McCarthy is tactically limited and inflexible, transfer activity has been minimal and the club is being run on a shoestring.

Another season of mid-table obscurity beckons.

No reports of the server being unable to cope with the sudden influx of applications

I am now wondering if somebody has remembered to switch it on!!!

AshinBarnsley re your first post, there were four of us season ticket holders in the car last season. Now there are only two as have just heard that another has not renewed.

That's a 50% drop, dont expect that will be reflected generally of course, and we will only know when the attendances are announced during the season.

I find it very sad,the main reason in our two friends case was the unattractive football;so the blame must lie solely at McCarthy's door.

Sales were considerably worse than just 7%, because at that stage the previous season the club went on to sell approx 1,500 additional STs. The likelihood is those people either renewed or not by the original deadline. Thus it's 7% + 1,500. Around three thousand season tickets were lost. Hence the reason for the extension. Sadly, with a surplus of eight players building up to the revised deadline, it's unlikely the transfer activity or lack of it would sway the stay away fans.

There were 3 of us in one car last year including me a ST holder since early 80s ,100% of us have cancelled,I love my club but will not watch that style of football anymore,as for attractive games next year the games against-Norwich,Newcastle,Villa,Shef Wed,Derby etc will not be fun just embarrassing -club have no idea whatsoever.
