Town Confirm Nydam Deal
Tuesday, 8th Nov 2016 17:19

Town have confirmed that academy midfielder Tristan Nydam has signed his first professional contract, as TWTD reported on Monday.

Nydam turned 17 on Sunday, allowing him to put pen to paper on pro terms, which he did earlier today.

The Zimbabwe-born, Colchester-raised first-year scholar has agreed a two-year contract, the longest deal permitted for a 17-year-old.

Box-to-box midfielder Nydam, who was on standby for the England U17s squad for the European Championships in June, came on as a sub for the first team in the friendly at Cambridge in the summer but is yet to be included in a competitive senior 18.

Friend who works an analyst at town reckons he's got the potential and is already being tipped to be far better than Bishop. The best academy in the new era. Hope so.
