Chambers: Chance to Put a Run Together
Wednesday, 21st Dec 2016 12:34

Skipper Luke Chambers hopes the Blues can build on last Saturday’s 3-2 win at Wigan and put a run of results together over the Christmas period.

Town, who are 15th, nine points off the play-offs and eight from the bottom three and still to record back-to-back wins this season, are next in action at home to Fulham on Boxing Day with Bristol City visiting Portman Road on Friday 30th December.

“We are in a bit of no-man's land at the minute which has been down to our inconsistency of results,” Chambers told the club site.

“We haven't been able to put a real run of results together yet but we have a chance to do exactly that now and that's what we will be aiming to do.

“Christmas is always a time where you can pick up a lot of points during a relatively short space of time as there are so many games, and that's exactly what we need to do.”

The visits by Fulham and Bristol City are followed by a trip to QPR on Monday 2nd January, then the FA Cup third round tie against Lincoln City at Portman Road on Saturday 7th January.

Notice he didn't mention his poor display on Saturday, then perhaps he thought he was ok..
If so he is as deluded as his boss for picking him at right back every game!

Decent chap but not a right back as McCarthy knows but won't admit. Better as a central defender . If our esteemed manager could forcibly admit that we might win with Kenlock and Emmanuel as full backs, we might turn some corner otherwise just hot air..

Firstly yes we do want to see it on the pitch but at least the club are trying to communicate with the fans and personally I feel that's an important job off the field that they do well.

Secondly, Chambers is limited as a right back and we all know he's a centre back but he won't get dropped and his passion and commitment is second to none. Is the defence the reason we're struggling? Simple answer is No. Yes it could be improved but statistically the back 5 have done pretty well this season and swapping Emmanuel and Kenlock isn't going to give us that jump from 15th to 6th I can assure you that!

Let's talk about the story and not just chambers who clearly divides opinion.

As someone else said, all we've done is won a single game. That's not a run is it? A run is more than two in a row for me, and I don't see us winning two in a row.

Sorry for the negativity, but I've had enough of trying to rouse myself into optimism!

It must have taken your brain cell hours to come up with that.

If you watch McCarthy he is controlling the Players from the bench with his go back, go forward, go sideways , jump yes higher etc. in fact one player looked at the bench and you could see him say where do you want me now ??? The point I am making, it is not out of McCarthys hands !!!!
sometimes it is more fascinating watching him ??

Never going up at first I thought you were serious, then after checking the local mental institution realised you had not escaped but were taking the urine. Well thought out, next you will be telling us that Douglas is on par with Muhren and Scuse learnt his trade off Thijsen.

Nice comment Tony88 !!! Is that your IQ by the way ?? Simplicity does not have to mean stupidity but maybe you're the exception to that ? Rather than trying to belittle my criticism of the worst full back in the division perhaps you could enlighten us with the pearls of your footballing wisdom so that all of us one braincelled amoebae can immerse ourselves in your intelligence ??

If you need a definition of any of the difficult words that I clearly had to look up on Google just let me kno and I will put my brain cell into action.

With Jonny Williams out for three months that's very difficult I'd say.

As for people slating Chambers for saying this - well if he said what he's probably thinking which is the same as us he'd be called an absolute disgrace.

Yes it's been a crap season thus far with a talented bunch, however if we WERE to win both the home games, and sign a couple of bits of class in January then who knows?

Problem is, Forest, Wolves, QPR and many other clubs fans believe they belong in the Premier league too.

Best contribution you could make Chambers is to drop yourself

think Chambers or anyone should have learnt by now not to mention anything about a run. The fist pumping has run its course now too.. I'm not a party pooper, but my once great team is becoming a bit of a cringe-fest

I have lost all respect for Chambers as he is the worst player on the pitch every week opposition included and should be captain Skuse is another name always on the team sheet and I like the bloke as I man and player so he should be captain and we have Berra aswell !!! Chambers is such a muppet last home game he shouted at the fans to pass him the ball quickly got all fruity then the throw was complete rubbish he gets caught out not doing his job as ward hasn't been his self as if you watch him he has to cover for chambo every single time they attack then Ward is not where he should be getting the full back tangled in knots and having shots just like Lawrence on the other side granted Knudsen has been great lately but I like him as he is a defender gives the ball to Lawrence and he gets everyone off their seats I feel if Emmanuel was RB Ward could do the same as he has goals in him as if he has a shot they normally go in the back of the net or at least hit the target
