Meet the Club at Supporters Club AGM
Wednesday, 25th Oct 2017 09:35

This season's Supporters Club AGM, which takes place on Thursday in Legends Bar, will once again take the form of an open evening where fans will have a chance to meet and question management representing many areas of Ipswich Town, among them MD Ian Milne.

In addition to Milne, the Meet the Club guests confirmed include academy manager Lee O'Neill, academy head of coaching and player development Bryan Klug, director of sales Rosie Richardson, finance director Mark Andrews, head of ticketing Donna Powell, supporter liaison officer Elizabeth Edwards and Neil Jones and Tim Claydon from Centerplate, the club's concourse catering provider, who will be providing complimentary pies.

The evening will give Supporters Club members an opportunity to ask them about their roles and raise any questions they may have.

The event starts at 7.30pm and will also include the formal business of the Supporters Club AGM.

Evidence of membership of the Supporters Club - season tickets, Silver, Ambassador or Junior Blues membership cards - must be provided at the door.

For more information on the Supporters Club AGM contact caretaker-chair Steve Doe via officialitsc@gmail.com and for information on the Meet the Club part of the evening contact Elizabeth Edwards via slo@itfc.co.uk or call 07968 876504.

There's a brilliant article on the BBC Football website about Watford and how the club is run. I believe it's well worth reading. Maybe someone who's going to the AGM should print a copy off and hand it in! Nobody is going to tell me that Watford are a "bigger" club than Ipswich, and certainly not in potential.

MM needs to go & go now.
This will give the new man time to plan for the January transfer window,
HOWEVER, can ME be trusted to get the next appointment right, with his track record.
Sack JM
Hire RK, PJ & MM ...... Extend MM contract.
I rest my case

Someone please take Gilesy's comment to the AGM for the love of god! I would love to hear the response from Milne on this. Gilesy you have perfectly summed up the majority and with a complete unbiased opinion! I havent been going as long as you but for 25 years, 20 of those as a season ticket holder, last season was literally the first year I really fell out of love with the club and therfore football in general. In all my years I have never actually felt the dread of going to a football match quite as much even hearing a team sheet halfway to Ipswich and wanting to turn back!
Regarding the Management - I am not one for sacking managers but time and time again I am getting fed up with being told how good the opposition is (even the might of Rotherham with no away point) playing negative (defend first) football. Mick and the inners saying he hasnt got the budget which is correct to a degree but neither do the likes of Lincoln, Portsmouth, Stevenage and Rotherham but all these teams have come to our ground and given us a footballing lesson with much, MUCH LESS of a playing budget and IMO not as talented a squad!
I feel Mick and his team coach the attacking quality out of the players we have and play players out of postion. Sears bought as a striker and scores a glut of goals in his first season then stuck out wide then loses confidence, Waghorn again bought as a striker playing wide, Chambers never a right back, Its amazing how the likes of Maitland-Niles was made to look very average in our side but can get into the Arsenal side this season, Celina cannot get a start or even a subs appearence yet Man City rate him highly.
Im sick to death of excuses and people sayin 'be careful what you wish for' If you have a boil on your ar$e thats getting worse and worse are you just going to carry on sitting on it or get it sorted! There are plenty of hungry young managers about Graham Alexander at Scunthorpe being one. He plays with 6000 gates, competing with much much bigger clubs with more resources around him but still manages to be in the top 6 the past 2 seasons playing decent football. I loved McCarthy and his management style suited his time but times have changed now and his style is outdated.
Regarding the ownership why did he buy the club? Surely a successful businessman does this for a reason to eventually make some money on it however little? The only way this works is by going up and I dont believe you need to spend large amounts but we do need more investment than we are getting. Or maybe he is happy using us as a tax right off for his holding company, charging the million and a half in interest payments each season on 'our' debt. Its hard to really gage what he is here for. I dont buy the investing 5 million every season as last years accounts showed something nearer to 500,000.
I just want to love going and supporting my club again with a clear vision for the future but the future looks increasingly bleak under the current regime.
