Bru and Crowe's International Sides Set for Action
Thursday, 22nd Mar 2018 09:56

Midfielder Kevin Bru is set to add to his international caps when Mauritius face Macau in a friendly in Taipa this afternoon (KO midday), while keeper Michael Crowe’s Wales play the hosts in their opening game at the China Cup this morning (KO 11.35am).

Bru, 29, who skippers Les Dodos, will be winning his 14th full cap and will be hoping to add to his single international goal.

Paris-born Bru, who qualifies for Mauritius via his parents, is set to leave the Blues when his contract is up at the end of the season.

Crowe, who is unlikely to play today with Crystal Palace’s Wayne Hennessey the first-choice keeper and Preston’s Chris Maxwell also in the travelling party, is in a Wales senior squad for the first time and was delighted to receive the call.

“It was a surprise but I think I’ve earnt it, I’ve worked hard, I’ve done my best for a long time here now. Obviously I just want to go there and show them what I can do,” Crowe told iFollow Ipswich shortly after learning that he had been named in new manager Ryan Giggs’s first squad last Thursday.

“It’s always nice to be called up and recognised for the work you do, let’s hope I can impress them and hopefully be called up again. We’re going to China, I’m absolutely buzzing, I can’t wait.”

The London-born, Norway-raised 22-year-old, who qualifies for Wales via his grandmother, has previously won U21 and U19 caps.
