Thursday, 29th Aug 2019 15:32

Bound volumes of programmes from the 1930s originally owned by former Blues manager Scott Duncan will go under the hammer at Lockdales on Saturday 14th September.

One lot includes a bound volume of 1937/38 programmes - 12 from 5th February 1938 to 9th May 1938 - with ‘A Scott Duncan’ stamped on the first page. The programmes’ covers aren’t present, but inserts are.

Additionally, there’s a small book of cuttings and the Bobby Robson Testimonial programme signed by Robson himself and former skipper Terry Butcher. This lot is expected to fetch from £200-£250.

The second lot includes a bound volume of 1938/39 programmes - 23 from 27th August 1938 to 8th May 1939 - again with 'A. Scott Duncan' stamped on the first page. Programme covers are not present, but inserts are. It’s anticipated that the lot will reach £400-£450.

The auction’s catalogue can be downloaded here, while there are also a number of other Town-related lots.

Scotsman Duncan was Town manager from 1937, having joined from Manchester United, until 1955.
