TWTD Mailing List Update
Monday, 30th Oct 2023 16:09 by Gav

Over the last few weeks, a number of our visitors haven't been getting emails from our server, due to us having been blocked by Microsoft and affected their email services via Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, and MSN.

The emails affected were anything from our news mailing list to new registrants to the site, password resets and direct messaging notifications.

The primary cause of this block was the frequency of TWTD NewsNet emails that we send out so we've had to come up with a new solution.

Starting Tuesday, a news email will now be triggered by a major story being added to the site. Typically, this will be a new story that becomes the main story on the front page. In that email will also be all the additional stories that have been published since our last email, so you won't miss a story but make sure you read the whole email!

Another important thing to note is that we want to make sure we are only sending emails to those who regularly use them. It is a time-consuming task to remove email addresses which no longer exist, so we now ask that you click on news links every 30 days. The status of your last click will be at the foot of every email.

Should you lapse, you can click on a link in an old email or rejoin the list by typing your email address in the 'join mailing list' form on the front page of the site or news page.

We hope you click every major news story anyway, so we hope this doesn't become a issue for anyone. Feel free to contact us using the link at the foot of every page or email support@twtd.co.uk.

There are other ways to get notified of new stories. We tweet every story on our X/Twitter account at https://x.com/twtduk and our Facebook page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/twtd.co.uk. We also have an RSS page for the tech savvy at https://www.twtd.co.uk/rss/.
