Town will net just £100,000 from the England-Croatia game being played at Portman Road on August 20th. The FA will be the major financial winners from the friendly international.

Blues' chief executive Derek Bowden told TWTD: "I would be happy if we made £100,000, which is low, and the reason it is low is that the majority of the income is taken by the FA. Whether it's ticket sales or merchandise, the FA take 80-90%.

"We make money through non-England retail — if we sell an England shirt they take 85%, if we sell a T-shirt of ours we take 100%. The moneymaking opportunities for the club are largely surrounding retail and matchday food and beverage consumption."

Bowden was talking to TWTD in an interview available in full in the new issue of the fanzine, available from around the ground before the Reading and Kidderminster games or by mail from the TWTD stall: " target="_blank">http://www.twtd.co.uk/stall
