Robson Taken to Hospital Saturday, 5th Aug 2006 19:17 Town president Sir Bobby Robson was taken to hospital after complaining of feeling unwell after 10 minutes of the Blues' 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace. Robson had been paraded in front of the crowd prior to kick-off. The 73-year-old saw the club doctor before going to Ipswich Hospital where he underwent tests. Ipswich Hospital bed-site manager Sandra Churchyard said: "Sir Bobby Robson is in Accident and Emergency having routine tests performed and his condition is comfortable.” Dr Hugh Davies, Robson's cancer specialist, was a guest of the ex-England manager at the game and is believed to have gone with him to hospital. The former Blues boss had a cancerous tumour removed from a lung in May, the third time he has been treated for the disease. New Town manager Jim Magilton wished Robson a speedy recovery: “There was no prouder man in the stadium today than me, knowing that Sir Bobby was in the stand. "When a man of his stature is rushed into hospital then the result doesn't matter. As long as he's OK, we'll be OK."
