Town defender Wayne Brown has told TWTD that although the decision which stopped him going to Norwich on loan wasn't his he probably wouldn't have gone anyway. Brown, however, is convinced his career is now destined to continue elsewhere and will consider offers.

Town have announced the reserve side which will play Charlton Athletic at Portman Road tonight, kick-off 7pm. Fabian Wilnis and Titus Bramble are are probably the most experienced players in the side. Ulrich Le Pen continues his recovery from his foot injury.

Town have confirmed last night's TWTD story which reported that Gary Croft is to go on loan to Wigan Athletic. Croft is a long way down the pecking order at Portman Road and expressed a desire to serve a spell at another club to get first team football.

George Burley has commented on the attempts by Norwich and AFC Bournemouth to take Town players on loan. The Canaries were interested in Wayne Brown while Bournemouth have twice come in for Darren Bent.

Mark Venus returned to training yesterday after suffering from an ankle injury on Saturday. Jim Magilton, hamstring, is set to get back into action again tomorrow.

Wayne Brown has guaranteed himself a place in the hearts of all Town fans forever by refusing to take the chance to join Norwich City on loan. The central defender earlier spent time at Wimbledon on loan, but when the chance to go to Norwich came he turned it down.

Town boss George Burley has revealed that Marcus Stewart is being rested this evening. Originally the striker was included in the squad facing Charlton at Portman Road (KO 7pm), but Burley feels he needs to be rested.

Town have refused to loan youngster Darren Bent to Second Division AFC Bournemouth. Cherries manager Sean O'Driscoll has twice approached George Burley with a view to taking the England U19 international to the south coast for a spell, but both times he has been denied.
