Town progressed to the third round of the Worthington Cup beating Brighton 3-1 after going behind. Dean Hammond poked home a cross completely missed by Andy Marshall in the third minute, but the keeper's blushes were spared by goals from Darren Bent, Pablo Couñago and a stunner from Darren Ambrose.

FIFA have announced a change to the rules regarding sendings off. All players shown the red card will now face a one-match ban in the next game in the same competition after their dismissal.
