er...we dont need to grind out draws, we need to take advantage of the many opportunities we create and win games.saturdays game reminded me of last seasons QPR game when we could have won well but failed to put chances away.for me,these different formations and players week in week out is our weakness.we have potentially one of the deadliest strikers in the division so our line ups should be to play to his strengths !!!.i'm not telling mr jewell how to suck eggs but i feel in need to remind our lot the "down rule" of football...the team that scores the most goals wins. |

hi ya alfro,see what your saying about norris,for me trotter was not playing in his natural position(town trait!)with all due respect when magilton left i thought that we were only two or three signings away from being a top six side.now surely when your not the worst side in the league you put your hungriest youngsters out to blood them and give the seniors something to think about.did you realise that when we played soton that there wasnt one player who came through our ranks on the pitch.can you tell me the last time that happened?yes your right about robson,but football is not that patient anymore my friend,that is not just for us but a lot of clubs not a very good sign for the future |

whats to look at ,we cant play simple passes and we cannot organise our defence,and the defenders think they're capable of playing glen hoddle passes.rule those out and we might only concede three next game!all credit to p'boro,they put themselves in positions (which may have been offside)to put us in a position where someone had to make a decision for us.the lino got some right and some wrong. |

i think mr clegg must be (who rightfully remains quiet on past games)must shoulder a large chunk or the responsibility. when we signed bowyer and igamarson i thought to myself for the age and length of contract they have we might as well of given norris and macauley the contracts they asked for.and as i said before in past posts how disrespectful to those two who actually were a big part of keeping us in the championship,and they obviously wanted to stay for the rest of their careers.looking back now how much money would that have saved us.we've dumped on our youth by not showing faith in them.how much difference would a big midfield man e.g. liam trotter have made when p'boro where walking through our midfield.i also think troy brown would been able to track the pacey attack p'boro, soton have.having clegg in charge reminds me of the post office.they put a bloke in charge who used to run asda who had to learn the ropes whilst trying to make big decisions at the same the.not a good combo!so i ask simon clegg are we a football club with football aspirations or is he just like all these ceo's who think they can rip the spine out of an organisation then bugger off with ridiculous pay offs.i think the person we should be asking questions to is clegg.what we've seen over the last few weeks is the result of business descisions not footballing ones,we pay to see good footballing decisions and if we have to pay one or two players over the odds to progress then i call that investment.if we scrimp and scrape we can expect to be a mid table to relegation team,who players will use as a stepping stone to go to a club with better prospects. |

i'm not upset by these deafeats by our local rivals,only a feeling that im not really surprised.we just do things at the wrong time too often.against n'hmptn i was impressed how they played and they did play very well.but the chances we did get in the first half made it a forgone conclusion for me that we would be scoring at some stage.that happened but when we had them on the the ropes we went to keane era self destruct mode!instead of just keeping the ball,and being patient enough to wait and look for the openings,yes we went to good old long ball.how bloody predictable!i'm just about to watch peterboro game.and i'll bet you that our game consisted of wait for it...yes long ball tactics.the guys like leadebetter, bowyer or who ever plays in midfield are just going through the motions cos the ball when in our possion you can almost be certain its going to be launched from defence to either wing,then again laedbetter when we need him to boss the game and play through him doesnt happen very much at all.this is why bullard was such a revalation for town.because he was not scared to keep the ball and take the sting out of the oppositions attack,he didnt listen to to the fans when he was knocking the ball about when they start grumbling when the ball is not flying around at a hundred miles an hour!simple passing and the courage to do it and intimidate opponents with possesion in their half when they are up against it is our flaw. |

fact,3 games is not a season in the championship,fact,nobitch started no better than we have this season,fact,this time last year we all thought keane might not be such a bad manager as we thought.there will be chances to redeem ourselves in time.the good thing is so far what i've seen this season we actually look a threat in front of goal and i think we will get the goals flowing again at home.our glaring defensive weaknesses will get better one way or the other so i'm not really concerned at this time.what will make it worse is drastic action i.e.dropping players does'nt help their confidence.as we all know from the keane era.as the manager said this is a work in progress.lets at least give em a period of games before we start to judge. |
