I've read the comments from others but would still take a punt on Farke. His success in the Championship wasn't down only to budget but getting the team to play and play well. OK, he's not been a success in the Premier League, but compare our last half-a-dozen or so managers who've taken us from being one of the better teams in the Championship, through to relegation and on to mid-table mediocrity in the old Third Division. |

Doesn't look a popular suggestion from previous posts, but Farke is the outstanding candidate. Are we sure he wouldn't like to get one over the team who sacked him after the first win of the season? We had no qualms on taking on Lambert, and Bruce and Robins are both also tainted by the green and yellow brush. |

I'm all for giving the manager time, but a certain level of results is expected for a team that was meant to be pushing for promotion from the off. If it were only Division 3, but now we lose to West Ham's youngsters after losing to Newport. Even forgetting the underachievements of last season, time must be up for PC. |

Probably only the second time I've posted here since registering when the BBC 606 blog folded. From his musings after the match, Mick seems to be starting to think he can't do more at the club. I tend to agree. He's done a fine rebuilding job after the disasters of his immediate predecessors, but it seems his present team selection and tactics reflect no more than midtable ambition. The risk is that a new manager could take us down as easily up. Is it right to blame Marcus Evans for not making significant transfer funds available? Perhaps but don't forget he's sinking something like £7m into the club annually just to keep it afloat. My fear is that Evans will get bored and go before McCarthy. |
