| News Comment | McCarthy Has No Intention of Walking Away and Plans to Build Again at Town at 10:36:56
I truly love the "Mick is not the problem" fans. Whilst Evans is the bigger problem, Mick is the person selecting Skuse and Douglas together at home in a 451 formation (2 defensive mids!!). Mick is the one signing the likes of Best and Coke as well as a plethora of others who drain the wage bill that could be saved for one special player. Mick is the one who plays Sears on the wing and absolutely ruins his confidence in front of goal, it's not his position and he's a shadow of his former self. Mick is the one leaving Dozzell nowhere near the team. Mick plays Knudsen over Kenlock. All of these points are almost irrelevant to the main point of his negativity. I can't stand the man anymore due to the sheer volume of times we've been in a position to go for the win and push forward and he holds back and goes for the draw. I'm tired of the negative tactics, QPR away being the most poignant. He disrespects the fans more than most managers I've seen. I'm not braindead and I will not be blindly backing a man who continuously goes against everything I believe as an Ipswich fan. |
| News Comment | Sunderland Eyeing Webster at 11:16:26
In today's market, I personally wouldn't take anything less than 8 million. Whilst dribbling is hardly the main attribute for a centre back, I have never seen the mazy dribbles that Webster carries out from any other centre back at championship level. At such a young age, there is a very big future for someone with natural pace, skill on the ball and an eye for a forward pass. With the price Mings went for anything equivalent or above and I think we'd take it. |
| News Comment | Wigan Athletic 2-3 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 10:57:55
Scrapped a last minute goal against arguably the worst side/least in form in the division, don't get me wrong I was very happy with 3 points as teams below us lost so it gives us a little gap. People need to assess the standard we're actually playing at, we do not contend with anyone inside the top 10. Mick's comments the other day regarding transfers has already set the tone up to prepare for a lack of activity, will now be a good job if we finish say 11th. Only positive is we are five off of a bumbling Norwich. Nine points to the play offs is a large gap to make up and would border on a miracle. |
| News Comment | Williams Set to Return at 10:04:49
A midfield including Jonny Williams and Ward. This is what we've needed for years. Imagine if Didz gets fit along with those two. Living in dreamworld but exciting times nonetheless |
| News Comment | Town 4-2 Barnsley - Match Report at 09:48:37
Brilliant start. Thought things were going to be very different with the first half display, Bishop is a great CM and should never be played out wide. That extra little bit of class showed the difference, we've been crying out for a winger and when given a bit of money Mick pulls off what looks to be an amazing bargain priced deal with Ward. Only criticism is that I think Chambers will be run past a lot this season, I hope on Tuesday Emmanuel gets a chance. What a way to start the season though! |
| News Comment | McCarthy Admits Transfer Frustrations at 19:31:34
If you pay the correct price you can get a good deal, you don't have to spend millions here. Scout a few quick wingers from league 1 and a proven RB and I really don't think we'd need more. You can't tell me you couldn't cover that for 2-3 million. These comments come out every summer, I hope we start well or it won't take long to turn sour |
| News Comment | Town 2-0 Blackburn - Match Report at 08:36:14
Very much still in it with the games left and the position we are in. A few big ones we simply have to turn up to (Sheff Wed away). Looking positive. However, people are completely justified to be disgruntled with our performances lately and the lack of quality. A lot of people on here seem to think the win last night wipes out how negative our style of play is. Support the boys up or down, but when we're losing games and playing an unattractive style of football people can voice their opinion of what they'd change. |
| News Comment | Town 2-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers - Match Report at 15:18:32
All in all thought that was some of the best attacking build up play we've had in a long time. Douglas has really come in to form after gaining fitness and added a lot yesterday, skuse had spells where he sured things up nicely too. Only negatives yesterday was Gerken didn't convincingly deal with anything that came his way, two goals out of nowhere for Wolves that should have been dealt with a bit better. Knudsen in the first half showed his positioning has a lot left to be desired but had a decent second half. It was a positive showing in my opinion just left frustrated after dropping two points to a team who I can't see being near the top 6. Good to be playing a lot better though! |
| News Comment | Town Confirm Douglas Signing at 13:57:13
Remember him being a standout last season along with Pritchard. Very happy to have signed him, pieces are coming together very nicely now! Excited |
| News Comment | McCarthy's Big Keeper Decision at 06:18:47
Think both can do a decent job but if we're really trying to push for promotion neither of these two would get in another top 6 side. Think Bart will be chosen |
| News Comment | Mings Agrees Terms With Cherries in £8m Deal at 18:40:54
Unreal business. If mings played like he did the second half of this season through the next season id have been amazed if we got a couple million for him. To get this much money for someone who cost us a lot of mistakes and to get two players who both have really impressed me every time I've seen them. Quality deal from Mick. I hope Tyrone does well because he has a lot of potential to be top class but this is the perfect deal for us. |
| News Comment | West Brom Linked With Mings at 16:28:15
The first half version of Mings would be sad to lose but 6 mil would be a very good price. He can be very lapse minded and I think Parr would do a very good job. |
| News Comment | Fulham Eyeing Ando at 17:06:58
I will assume those saying he has pace and can beat a man haven't been to any game of which he is played in. He's an ok player with great effort but ask yourself would he be in any other top ten team. Most teams have wingers who burn past people and while that isn't how we play and I don't mind it would be nice to have someone who could go past people. Hopefully Connolly will come through at some point. Trust Mick to do the right thing if he wants to keep him |
| News Comment | Player of the Year Voting Under Way at 10:34:55
Of course it has to be Murph the man has worked his nuts off before this season and has now flooded us with goals to get us where we are. However I do think people tend to overlook how good Berra is for us and tend to take it as a given that he will be there to cover us. The most consistent player in the team for me and I think we'd all noticejust how important he is if we miss him for a couple games. |
| News Comment | McCarthy Not Ruling Out Knockaert Loan at 18:46:54
I don't know why Mick thought our small defensive squad would be able to carry on through the whole season. They've done an amazing job to get us where we are but I'm baffled as to why either ME won't spend anything or Mick doesn't think we need to. Either way at least Mick is making a move now which is better than not at all and we still have time left. While I don't like how we play MM is the right man to get us up. Smith and Mings need a rest and a revamp could get us going again. Stay in good cheer! |
| News Comment | Town Announce Norwich Ticketing at 13:34:34
Probably the fairest way to do it so can't complain. Bigger allocation would have helped but we didn't give many to them. If only I didn't work weekends and could have got the letter! Any spare tickets floating about I'll run down the town naked for a pair |
