Lawrence: One of My Best Goals But Massively Disappointed
at 06:57:44

If we could sign Lawrence, that would be incredible. Strongly doubt it would ever happen, but he'd likely keep improving (at least, if we get in another manager) and probably be a sound investment if nothing else for the club. In the meantime, we get a player who actually can PLAY. Kenlock and Lawrence on the left side could turn into a deadly combination

McCarthy: Lawrence Here for the Season But Town Would Lose Summer Battle
at 06:25:12

If we could sign him, that would be incredible. Best outfield player in the team by a long way at the moment.

That said, I know it's unlikely. So, whatever happens, wherever he ends up, I'll wish him all the best.

Unless he ends up at Norwich.

Evans Backs McCarthy and Outlines Five-Point Long-Term Strategy
at 06:16:56

'On occasion' been worse than the previous two seasons?! Should read that we've CONSISTENTLY been worse, having a decent game on occasion! Two of his five points contradict each other if he's talking about McCarthy and co being the 'stable management team' producing 'attractive and exciting football'. Really, you can have one or the other.

Essentially, reads exactly as I thought it would: excuses about other teams having a lot more money than us, backing Mick despite a vast majority of the fans (and possibly some players based on performances) turning on him, his arrogance and his tactics, and saying that he'll invest in youth that rarely gets a chance to play under McCarthy.

It's got to the point where I don't want to wear my ITFC shirts anymore, because I don't want to give him the publicity. If he wants promotion, and his brand to be shown around the world on one of the highest viewed platforms there is, MM needs to go, serious investment is needed, and a manager who will actually try to win a damn game needs to be hired.

McCarthy Taking Each Game As it Comes
at 07:10:26

Going back to the disallowed goals vs Wolves and The Scum that Mick mentions, it's incredible to think that if they were allowed we'd be THREE points off the play off positions at this point, even with how inconsistent the team is, the lack of goals, the general feeling of boredom. It shows just how badly a lot of teams are playing this year, and that we're not the only inconsistent ones.

I've rarely been optimistic about the club this season. I can't help but feel that, with the signing of a decent striker or two when we lost Murphy, we'd be near the top of the table, given other clubs' results. The problem is just that, though. If we need a decent striker to get some goals, and with it, hopefully some consistency, we won't be the only ones. Every team will tweak their squad in January to address issues.

What needs to be focused on is making sure the team work well together. Try to sign Lawrence and Williams, start some different players and experiment a bit. It would be amazing to have a play off push this season, but common sense says that won't happen, at least with the way the team is selected now. I'm hoping that MM comes out against Cardiff and gives players like Dozzell, Morris, etc a ago. It can almost be guaranteed that Cardiff will know exactly who will be playing them Saturday, and will have prepared as such. We need to become unpredictable. The fans need to know that MM is willing to throw everything out and take a gamble. It might not pay off, but at least it might have a bit more entertainment value.
