McCarthy: Taylor Never Showed Enough at Town
at 09:21:50

During pre-season Mick came out and said that Paul Taylot come back 4th fittest in the whole squad and has obviously worked hard over the summer(which he was very pleased about). After a few pre-season games where Taylor looked bright and creative in the majority, he is then frozen out AGAIN.

The fact is, he doesn't fit into our squad because of our style of play. Isn't that depressing? He's shining at Rotheram because they like to play the ball on the ground to feet(and not just playing the ball backwards).

Currently IMO our team is crying out for some "bums off seats players". IF we could manage to get Williams, our team could become a very attacking force in the championship come January. Wouldn't ever expect MM to have anything like this but the sad thing is, this team is doable...

Bialkowski

Chambers Smith Berra Mings/Parr

Hyam

Hewitt/Stewart Williams Taylor

Mcgoldrick Murphy

If you could get the wingers Taylor and possibly Hewitt to safe it up a bit with chambers to be up and down, this team has 3/4 players that could get a goal from nowhere, when was the last time a town fan said that??

No Mings Palace Move - Report
at 15:12:54

If and this is a BIG IF, MM was allowed the funds then i think we should make the deal. Without doubt Mcgoldrick is our most talented player and currently the only player who possesses creativity in our squad, however 8 million is a ridiculous sum of money for a player who has had one good season and just come back from a long term injury.

If and once again.. A BIG IF the bid is around 8 million then we could add a top quality striker with atleast 2 midfielders who could bring flare to our team.

Would absolute love palace to come forward with an offer as hopefully Williams or Murray could be part of a deal. We all know what Williams can do and Murray is a prolific championship striker.

As much as I love Mcoldrick and it would be good to see him stay, a part of me hope a deal goes through as it seems this is the only way MM would have any chance of having some serious money to spend.

McCarthy Keeping Cards Close to Chest
at 15:00:01

Everything about our team tells me we should try out a 352! Why play chambers out of position when you can have him,Berra and smith as a three with Hewitt and Parr as wing backs. Those 3 defenders would be up there with some of the best of the championship. Also Hewitt isn't the best at defending but has plenty of energy and enjoys getting forward. The least MM could of done was try it in pre season.

Mick is sat there saying how short our squad is, yet we have Taylor,Marriott and woody out on loan with no replacements other than sammon (if that counts). All three of those players could easily challenge for a first 11, let alone our squad.

Hope I'm wrong, but I fear for us tomorrow. Will be the usual boring midfield holding out for a draw, until they break through and more will follow I fear.
Very hard to be optimistic as a town fan ATM.

McCarthy: Difficult To Take But No Disgrace
at 17:16:48

Another depressing day as an Ipswich Town fan I'm afraid.

Without a doubt big Mick worked wonders when he kept us up, but can anyone really say we have progressed?? In terms of management Mick is the best in the business when you are fighting relegation as he makes teams hard to beat and organised. However, He doesn't seem to have found the balance between hard workers and genuine talent.

Anyone who went today would see we just played into turners hands by hoofing it in the air with no other game plan.

Hyam looked the only player up for it and wanted the ball throughout the game, where as skuse has gone back a level in my opinion. Luke has become twice the player is, as he actually tries to play with some sort of tempo.

Regardless of what people say about Taylor's attitude, the man has ability to change a game which no one currently does in our team (other than Mcgoldrick). Whenever I saw him play he would work his socks off, so the fact MM can't come out and explain what the situation is, it frustrates me even more. He got one chance last year, when he started at home to Birmingham and if anyone saw that game they will know that he got motm and received a standing ovation. However after the game, MM refused to compliment him and instead call Jay Tabb "different class". Can't help but feel MM has a sense of arrogance about him that the famous Roy Keane had. It seems if you can run yourself into the ground you can guarantee start, but you need to balance that with some flair. Ok afraid playing cole skuse and Jay tabb is like having 9 men. What do they actually give to the side other than a few backward passes?

It's not so much the result that has depressed me, it's the way we played. Realistically a top half finish would be a big achievement with a very average squad.

Wordsworth Available as Ambrose Joins in Training
at 19:28:58

Don't get me wrong, he hasn't set the world a light but he is definitely more creative than Skuse and Hyam. Would of been nice to see him in the centre with hyam. Fed up of seeing two defensive midfielders together. Can't help but feel all Skuse offers is some sideways and backward passing at a very slow pace.
Let's hope big mick has a trick up his sleeve as our squad is looking very thin with very few creative players. HardWork can only get you a certain somewhere I'm afraid.
