| News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-0 Burnley - Match Report at 13:05:53
I don't know about the linesman, but I thought the ref was as good as we've seen at Portman Road for quite a while. He wasn't going to be fooled by players feigning injury. On several occasions he didn't allow a physio onto the pitch to treat players claiming to be injured and every time they eventually carried on with no I'll effects. The added on time both halves reflected this. A breath of fresh air. |
| News Comment | Manager Cook Sacked at 19:25:06
I'm shocked, but not sorry. Honestly thought he'd be given longer, possibly with an experienced no.2. But I believe that this is the right decision. |
| News Comment | Dyer to Need Liver Transplant at 14:22:19
My mate had a liver transplant a couple of years ago. He took it in his stride and he's now living a full life. Hopefully it'll do the same for Keiron. |
| News Comment | Lambert: We Were the Better Team at 19:27:42
Perhaps they should just project a hologram of Lambert for every post match conference and play a recording of the same old deluded dross he speels after every game - would save everyone a lot of time and frustration |
| News Comment | Three Changes for Blues at Crewe at 14:26:28
Putting to one side Lambert's persistence with playing a lone striker, he will now have started 2 games with 2 out and out wingers (Thomas and Edwards) yet has chosen not to play Drinan (the obvious target man) in either. |
| News Comment | Lambert Won't Compromise Beliefs at 17:28:44
Lambert claims that he learnt his lesson not to change systems 5 or 6 years ago. All of his managerial success was achieved before then (with Ian Culverhouse as his no. 2). |
| News Comment | Lambert: We Need to Be Nastier in Both Boxes at 11:03:46
Lambert's quote about the difference between a hobby and a job is a bit ironic. If Lambert can't shape a pair of strikers out of Norwood, Jackson, Hawkins, Sears and Drinan to be anything other than hopeless, then he's no more than a hobby manager. Time for a manager that can do a job. |
| News Comment | Ex-Blues Defender Smith on Trial With Colchester at 16:25:40
Can't help feeling that Chambers has not been moved on as he has an annexe in his garden that accommodates a bunch of the younger players, very useful for the club. Tommy is 4 years younger and has always been the better player. And dolphinpie, I can't agree that Venus was a better player than The Beat. |
| News Comment | Former Blues Defender Smith Leaves Sunderland at 23:19:12
Other than Wolfie, Tommy would be the best central defender at the club so pair the two together. Can't imagine Chambers ever making it to a World Cup, remember Tommy went through the whole tournament unbeaten - and that included a match against Italy. |
| News Comment | Roberts Back With Blues as Gills Loan Ends at 19:55:36
Thought Hurst brought him in as a winger but can't ever remember seeing him play in that position. Hope all goes well for him wherever he ends up. |
| News Comment | My Best Town XI: Darren Bent at 23:18:30
Keiron Dyer to replace Lambert please. You can tell from his comments that he's got a football brain, and that he'd field a team of entertainers. |
| News Comment | Town Take Up Option on Dozzell's Contract at 12:37:52
Dobra is a must keep, and I haven't seen enough of McGavin to give an enlightened opinion. I wonder whether we are exercising our option on Dozzell rather than giving him a new contract so as to ensure we take a fee for him in the event of another club moving in, having attracted the Budgies' interest last year. It might not be a popular comment on here, but I would offer Skuse reduced wages to stay. I believe that he would make an ideal central defensive partner for Wolfenden. The new wage cap for League 1 will very likely lead to the rest of the out of contract players being allowed to walk. |
| News Comment | Skuse: Talks On Future Under Way at 21:46:23
I view Skuse and Chambers as very different entities. Chambers has been a liability for far too long, incapable of playing the central defensive role that is supposedly his true position. Skuse however is very effective in his defensive midfielder role. I believe that Skuse has a couple of seasons left in him, possibly moving into the central defence - in place of Chambers. |
