Leicester got relegated on 52 points (07/08) so that has to be the target. Looking at the relegated third placed team in recent seasons gives an idea of the task ahead. PNE 42(10/11) Wednesday 47 (09/10) Narwich 46 (08/09)Leicester 52 (07/08) Southend 42 (06/07).
Currently Town with 28 points, so 24 points to go. Obviously these figures mean nowt when you have three worse teams in the league. Luckily for us we have Doncaster and Coventry who look woeful. I thought that about Forest until they turned us over with ease. We need to be turning that corner more quickly else we are may be that third team. For what its worth, based on Brum away and today I think we will. Keep the faith.... |

DOWN BOY! Got this dog called expectation. Black Labrador, very willing to please. Always hungry for tit-bits. Not fussy about what he eats, he once swallowed a schoolboy and burped out a 10m striker. A few months ago he swallowed a chop, can't wait to see what comes up from that. With all dogs you love em to bits but you can guarantee they will invent new ways to let you down. They will curl one down in your neighbours paddling pool, just before the sell on clause kicks in. For now, rarely, I am quite pleased with my pooch. He is doing as he is told and I have high hopes for him. Think he has that 'fancy a bit of hull howlin bitch' in his eyes.... |

He's not a messiah who's aura alone transforms underachieving players into world beaters after 3 days. Clubs are spending millions in this league just to keep up with all the other clubs spending millions. You've got to splash out just to stay still, tread water and not get relegated. Some fans think that ME's investment into Town has purchased the right to fly up the league to our rightful place within the top tier. His investment means that we are not playing Yeovil away next Saturday in Division 1.
So in RK we have a manager who as a player, worked under Brian Clough, and Alex Ferguson. Both managers who had a rocky initiation to management. Let's hope that in time RK can emulate a fraction of the success that his mentors enjoyed.
