Town Target Ex-Crawley Winger Roberts
at 15:15:49

Same with the link with the guy from Colchester. Just because they come from a lower league doesn't make them a bad player.

These guys don't sign a deal at their current club because their agent already knows there is interest from higher up the pyramid.

Jon Walters - came from Chester and look at the career he's had. There's loads of examples of people being given a chance and grasping it. Would rather have a squad full of young, hungry players than journeymen

Town Spend £241,969 on Agents
at 07:59:20

This is a good thing. Less of our transfer budget going to agents and more into wages and fees.

It's not like we didn't do any transfer deals, so it also indicates a strong negotiating stance i.e no we won't pay your agents fee along with a desire for a player to come here any play - even if they have to pay their own agent

Also highlights just how badly and desperately Birmingham spent money in the summer and in January

Town Confirm Waghorn Signing
at 12:47:53

Personally, i'm happy with this. With the kind of fees being paid these days, this is a good signing for ITFC for sure

I think of our summer shopping as on a par with shopping at TK Maxx. Sift through the rubbish, the gems are out there and they're in your size. Just have to look for them.

Town Set to Sign Adeyemi Today
at 16:46:08

My 1st thought was "what can ITFC give him that Norwich can't" to which I'd say the answer is guaranteed playing time. Clearly although we'll be paying him good money I'm sure, Norwich could offer him more money. So he's choosing playing time and his career over money? This is the sort of signing we need, clearly got a good attitude.

Mowbray New Blackburn Boss
at 13:00:38

He's not been successful recently but I'd like to see him do well. A real legend and that goal at Wembley will forever stick in my memory.

For him it's win win. Nobody expects him to turn Blackburn around and keep them up but if he does his stock will rise. If not, and they let him go at the end of the season, he'll get paid out of his deal and wander off with a year's salary. Certainly beats sitting at home

Town Targeting Former Newcastle Defender Taylor
at 11:03:37

I think his injury record may not be the best, but he's got great experience and played the majority of those 200 odd games at Newcastle in the Premier League. 30 isn't old, he's clarly fit having played in the MLS and is obviously cover for Webster. Woudln't be surprised if it was a deal to the end of the season with an option for more.

If you need cover, get the best cover you can. Surely this guy has the experience and quality we should all be welcoming to the team?

Milne: Stay With Mick
at 11:44:17

This must be a joke. Never in the club's recent history has the mood of the fans been so at odds with the noises coming from the club.

Mile: "Stay with Mick.......because we can't afford to pay him off"

Perhaps we could crowdfund his payoff?

Town Linked With Rebuffed Bid for Preston Striker
at 07:34:10

I think this is exactly the type of player we need and the type of player Sears/McGoldrick/Pitman need to have alongside them

It's the footballing equivalent of Ian Milne going off to the shops to buy a Mars bar with 30p in his pocket and somebody telling him you can't buy things in 2017 with 1990's money. It appears to come as a revelation!

Knudsen Fit as McCarthy Hints at Changes at Wigan
at 10:52:01

The best analogy i've seen of the Gary Rowett situation is as follows:

"Sacking Gary Rowett and replacing him with Zola is like dumping Mila Kunis and moving in with Katy Hopkins"

You can't argue with that really

New Town Designs from Art of Football
at 10:03:22

@hoppy

"Obviously these are all old players as the current crop don't provide us with anything to celebrate"

"The still picture of Martin Reuser is moving faster than Jonathan Douglas"

Hope those bring the mood down suitably. personally I love them, especially the Reuser one. My wife will hate it but i'll buy it anyway. I'm my own man

Wacko - we also conceded 2 goals in that game. Far too expansive. Decision made to shut up shop for the rest of the season

Give a young lad a chance? Good news story surely? Didn't do us any hard with Tyrone Mings and this lad has alot more experience that TM did when we signed him

McCarthy: Town Operating in Same Markets
at 09:00:06

What kind of manager is going to come out and say "I've got £XXXm to spend this year......"

People don't expect us to spend money, they expect us to drive a hard bargain. I'm sure, if somebody comes along for the right price, we'll pay a fee but because of the comments MM makes it's the right fee and not inflated because other clubs know we've got cash to spend

McCarthy: Dozzell Loved His Big Week
at 08:53:02

Yes, because Bishop didn't flourish under MM last season did he?

We are where we are, disappointing performances this season compared to last. MM is staying, so about time we all get used to it. I'm not passing judgement until after the summer - let's see how the squad looks then.

Is the Game Now Too Rich for Marcus Evans?
at 10:13:17

Some very interesting points made in this blog, and it's absolutely true to say that at no point since Marcus Evans invested in ITFC, has the club been more saleable. Good manager, good assets and current decent gate receipts. Whether Marcus and Mick are (very belligerently) sticking to their strategy of spending nownt come hell or high water, or whether Evans is lining up to cut his losses and run is anyones guess. I suppose it comes down to how much he loves the club and owning the club, or how much his business brain tells him not to throw good money after bad.
