| News Comment | McCarthy: Mings Deal Good for All Parties at 17:08:02
I'd say that we will be slightly stronger defensively, with Parr in at left back. But we will miss his marauding runs forward if we DON'T bring in a proper right back to balance the equation. |
| News Comment | Town Move for Pitman as Cherries Make Mings Bid at 15:43:07
I don't see why people think Murphy will be leaving. They're different players! Remember there is no Varney (at least until the new year), Noel Hunt released = lack of options. Murphy, Didz, Sears +1 more for an attacking quartet |
| News Comment | Milne: Money Available to Pay Fees at 14:32:49
northernblues I suspect that the Cresswell money covered the 9% rise in playing staff costs plus clearing some of our huge debt. New deals for Mings, Bishop, Chambo, Berra (i think?) and Bru throughout the season too. The days of paying anything more than £100k is over for the majority of champ clubs, except those with parachute payments. Remember, when we did pay for players, we were bloody useless. |
| News Comment | Town Announce Norwich Play-Off Ticketing at 10:32:49
A lot of people forgetting that this isn't just any old match. This is our cup final. Of course we would all like to get in for free, but unfortunately we are £90m in debt! |
| News Comment | McCarthy Aiming for Win at Blackburn at 09:36:50
Experience in the big games is vital. Mick Mac has an abundance of it and hopefully that'll run into the players. Always nice to read that the opposition are missing a host of defenders! Can't wait for the game tomorrow. See you in the Fernhurst pub!! |
| News Comment | Freedman: Town Would Have Great Chance in Play-Offs at 09:37:45
Carlo88 His job has been on the line these past few games. If I remember correctly, the chairman said he was here til the end of the season, when they will evaluate his performance. Being gracious in defeat can only help that. |
| News Comment | Ex-Academy Defender in Cup Final Ban Controversy at 21:06:15
Not sure how the SFA have deemed it deliberate handball. Unless their decision makers are Celtic fans of course.. But its class to see Josh (who was a good cricketer too) working his way up the football ladder. An example of any young footballer who doesn't make it at their first club. Well done! |
| News Comment | Blues Visit Bolton Chasing Fourth Away Win at 09:00:11
Forget the fact Bolton are 17th. 4 home wins on the bounce, scoring 10, conceding 2. This will be a tough (what game isn't mind!) and particularly close match. With Mark Davies out for them, I would place us as marginal favourites. We will have to be on our toes with Chung Lee, who is a quality player at this level. I'll be there this afternoon, and I can't wait to sing on the blues!! |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Wonderfully Rewarding at 15:44:17
I thought we were slightly fortunate to win that game if i'm being honest. A number of times, their striker Vetokele had very good openings, but poor touches let him down. He did look like a very good striker mind, with his movement in particular causing a threat. Skuse looked particularly off the pace today. BUT, all that matters is the final score, and 3 points to the Tractor Boys. Bloody love it!! |
| News Comment | Parr to Meet Town on Monday - Updated at 12:49:26
Mings' natural position is CB, remember. What a load of you guys seem to be suggesting is that we go into a campaign with one LB? Seeing as we did well with JW at the end of the season, we could get him cheaper than other clubs (i.e. more peaceful negotiation). Good experience, good age... Although, these reports are not to dissimilar to what we encountered with Jewell, so until MM says anything, I won't believe it. |
| News Comment | McCarthy Confirms Hunt Signing New Deal at 11:48:18
Will provide some valuable experience for Henshall and Doherty, when he returns. Important to have these types of players who are a crack off the pitch |
| News Comment | Cresswell Again Linked With Baggies at 15:23:52
Michael11- West Brom have a Director of Football, and have used that set-up for years. It doesn't take must of a genius to work out that as they need a LB, Cresswell (one of very few British options) would be on their shortlist of potential targets. Anything over £4m would be a bonus, which would mean about £3.2 in our pockets... MM would work wonders with that!! |
| News Comment | Foley: Norwich Board Vetoed Appointment at 10:04:07
I think all town fans can congratulate the Scum board for acting true to their nature. Appointing Adams, when Mackay was available, is just bewildering. However, I am not complaining! |
| News Comment | Duo's Yeovil Exit Confirmed at 21:35:41
What about Hewitt? Surely bringing him into the fold would be a better option than to spend money (compensation) on an alternative young RB. |
| News Comment | Trialist Henshall Offered Deal at 09:48:12
Aren't people forgetting the fact we have Hewitt to come back from Gillingham for the RB? Pace and raw talent- Henshall. Worth a punt, for sure. Hopefully no compensation. |
| News Comment | Taylor and Loach Available for Transfer at 10:42:20
I think the majority of people are judging MM's decision on Taylor as 'he has too much flair for me...' This is complete rubbish. Taylor has had off the field problems since he joined us. He clearly doesn't train hard, otherwise he would play- just look at Nouble. MM told him in training that he needs to sort his act out, which he did, so was given a game!! A friend of mine is a Posh season ticket holder, and he says Taylor has completely lost it on the pitch compared to when we bought him. |
| News Comment | Town Eyeing Pompey Youngster at 12:50:09
From a pompey fans website: "Jed Wallace: Clearly has a bright future due to his goalscoring ability, his passing range and his energy to get from box to box. Jed is out of contract in June and simply must be kept hold of to signal the club's intent next season. Verdict: Must do everything to keep." Highly regarded by a number of their fans. To shine in a poor team is quite an achievement for a 19 year old. Although conflicting story with regards to his contract... |
