Timleatham - The ref also saw it as a yellow card offence. Problem is that was his second yellow, he'd already been booked (harshly) for time wasting.

Referee 2-1 Town. Several joke decisions at key moments cost us in a game where, after a slow start, we were on top until the **** in the middle changed things. Don't even think he's worth the 1/10 rating I gave him, but unfortunately can't give the 0 he actually deserves.

And that's why it's so important to take chances when you're on top. We created more, hit the woodwork twice but only put the ball in the net once. Arsenal had fewer chances but were more clinical. Well played Arsenal, lessons to be learned by Town. Let's hope they do learn them!

Ipswich Town v Fleetwood Town Your Report added at 22:35:52
Fleetwood are nothing special, but they made up for it with work rate, closing down, chasing and old fashioned effort. If certain Town players showed even half that of their Fleetwood counterparts, we'd be fighting it out for the title rather than stuck in this rut. Time to weed out the players just going through the motions and build a team around the youngsters who'd run through brick walls for this club, the likes of Wolfenden, Downes and Simpson with committed older players to guide them.

And that's our season in a nutshell. No shortage of effort but missing that cutting edge up front. Key player lost to injury. Let down by referees when we need the big decisions (how blatant does a handball need to be for a penalty?). Despite all that, we somehow give ourselves a chance then shoot ourselves in the foot.

Matched them in the first half, they got that bit of luck with the opener and that was it. Depressing air of inevitability about the second, and the scoreline probably flattered them a bit, but overall they deserved the win.

ITFC 1-1 Tom Daley XI. At times a good match, but too often ruined by a number of players who were more interested in trying to con the ref (who fell for it far too often). Makes me wonder whether they're being coached to play like that - happened too many times to just be one or two players chancing their luck and then listen to their manager's comments about the ref.

Well, a win is a win, but Town made hard work of a Bolton side that were there for the taking.

1-1 going on 6-1. How Brentford weren't just beaten but absolutely buried is beyond me. We had so many chances; good balls across the 6 yard box, Murphy missing an open goal from 3 yards, Murphy one on one with the keeper, Wood's header and more. Couple of lapses at the back that might have been punished on another day, but overall we were by far the better side and should have won. If we can play like that for the rest of the season, we'll be alright.

A poor match all round. Wigan came for a 0-0 and it's frustrating that we let them get it - we only needed one goal and they'd never have got back into it. The ref was consistently inconsistent, missing obvious fouls right under his nose yet somehow seeing the most marginal infractions from 30/40 yards. But the most annoying aspect was Town's play. The fact we struggled that much without Murphy is a real concern, but we should have had the tactical nous to work out that, if the long punt upfield didn't work the first 20 times, it might be time to try plan B rather than go for another 20.

Poor match between a poor team and a rubbish one. Norwich were the better side, much as it pains me to say it, but they weren't that good and any semi-decent team should have been able to get at least a point and probably all three against them today. Unfortunately, we weren't even semi-decent! Only players to come out of this with any real credit are the keepers.
