| News Comment | Martin: We Were the Best Team, We Didn't Deserve to Lose at 07:13:41
Small thing, but the reason their defender (Harwood-Bellis) was covering for the red card is because Lief was pulled back then on the floor. If he hadn’t been touched he’d have been one on one with the keeper. Same thing can be said for Al-Hamadi, a defender was level but never catching him if he wasn’t fouled, it only after he was dumped on the floor that the defender got behind. Defenders know that and make a song and dance about ‘covering’ after the foul. I think the ref bottles it with just a yellow on the second one. (Hmm, bigger thing than I thought!) |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 4-3 Rotherham United - Match Report at 22:31:15
Not many teams have been as Kryptonite to Town as Rotherham. We did what we needed to do. The Ref did his thing that lead to the passage of play that lead to the dive by Kioso that he gave as a pen but we survived and we are 69 points from 33 games. I don't think we'll play another team who do what Rotherham do for the rest of the season so good times ahead! |
| News Comment | Town Confirm Moore Loan Signing at 20:19:55
As a quick question, who was the last player we signed with a bigger reputation than Kieffer? I ask in genuine curiosity because I'm struggling to think of who it might be. I've been a fan for 40 years and most of the great players I can think of weren't all that well known before we brought them in. I'll kick off with Ivan Campo, so that's 2008. |
| News Comment | Town Confirm Moore Loan Signing at 20:14:49
Brandon Williams is back too, so that's it for us. 25 man squad sorted. I quite like our chances especially if KMK does what he usually does and brings out the best in each of his players. |
| News Comment | McKenna: A Great Marker For Us at 12:10:22
Ffs the Jackson thing again. He’s a blue, he’s one of us, he scored last week. Get behind him and the team. |
| News Comment | Town Watch Gallagher at 11:50:18
Cambsrover - 33 points, little club with no captain, bless. |
| News Comment | Mowbray: I Think Stansfield Wants to Stay Here at 09:33:45
It’s only partly up to Stansfield to decide where his loans are. The Fulham loan manager has all the power and will make the decision. He will take the player’s preferences into account but ‘helped a team get promoted to the Prem’ rather than ‘Helped a team avoid relegation’ boosts a player’s sell-on potential. All said and done, we probably don’t actually know who KMC is targeting! |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-1 Leicester City - Match Report at 22:24:09
Stop the old tropes about Jackson, you clearly didn't see the game if you think he played badly. Well deserved point. 19 shots to 5. 11 corners to 2. Massive pressure on them from when they scored for about 60 or 70% of the rest of the match and we made it pay. Only 2 defeats at PR in 2023 (One of those against Prem opposition). Roll on QPR. |
| News Comment | McKenna: We'll Learn From Defeat and Quickly Move On at 16:43:43
Painful today but KMc's words are a bit of a salve. No bitterness, saltiness, call it what you will, just straight and honest and humble. We are halfway through the season, we have over 50 points and (before the season) we would all have taken 40 at this stage if it was offered. |
| News Comment | Luongo Announces International Retirement at 12:44:07
Great for the club as a whole. Can’t help but feel for Taylor, who’s chance for an extended run in the team was always going to be January and has taken a bit of a hit. |
| News Comment | Middlesbrough 0-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 23:48:59
Morsey kicks the ball away so close to the whistle that 99% of the time he gets away with that. That was the only thing that irritated tonight, he has to play against Watford because that's twice as tough as a home game against Norwich. It's the Leeds game that's more of a concern, I'd play him against Watford and rest him for tin-pot Norwich so he can play against Leeds. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 3-1 Millwall - Match Report at 23:28:34
Isn't that the first ever 3-1 scoreline for McKenna? No complaints about any of our team tonight. A top performance, is the Sky curse now on anyone who visits PR with the Sky cameras in place? One other point, Sky cameras (or filters or some editing tech) are a lot better at cutting thorough the fog than Town TV ones! I had both streams going at one stage and you could really see the difference! |
| News Comment | Hirst: A Lesson Learned at 07:14:36
It's a bit basic to say change the centre halves when we are conceding goals. One was a header from a corner and the other was a transition from our corner with both centre halves up for it! |
| News Comment | Broadhead and Slicker Win Caps at 20:21:18
Broady only played about 65 minutes and looked well fired up. He’ll be fine if we need him to play. Blueboy - What did any of that mean? |
| News Comment | McKenna: Changes Possible at 09:36:45
Plymouth scored 101 points last year, they should have been shattered then too. I think they are underachieving whereas we are doing the opposite. There are far more to an 6 teams worse than Plymouth in this division (in terms of squads) and far more than 1 better than us but a team includes all the other stuff like management, culture, spirt etc and the you are where you are. |
| News Comment | New Rotherham Date Set at 07:09:20
39 days and 9 matches to play before our next full week off (Dec 2-9), that's going to test the squad depth. There might be another round of the EFL cup to squeeze in too. The only other week off before Christmas is straight after the Norwich game on Dec 16th. I think we'll learn a lot in the next month. COYB |
| News Comment | Burgess Wins Cap as Socceroos Beaten at Wembley at 07:44:48
It was a dull performance by England and makes you appreciate all the more the style of football we get to see at PR every week. Aussie goalkeeper was well jittery and I don’t really remember him making any good saves. He half came then back tracked for the goal which gave England the second phase. |
| News Comment | Broadhead Scores But Burns Injured as Wales Beat Gibraltar at 07:27:56
It was on the back of Broadhead scoring his last goal forWales that his form shot up last season. Let’s hope for more of the same. Let’s hope Wes is okay but Omari’s form means it’s not the disaster it could be. |
