Similar to Phil’s, just great to be getting national recognition.

There’ll be plenty more of these over the coming days and weeks..

What a manager, team and club.

Penny for the thoughts of Marcus Evans today..

How are we all holding up?

Vestie!

Excited and nervous in almost equal measure. The proverbial twitching like a rabbit’s nose gives the game away.

Karl Wallinger RIP

That’s great and thank you. I loved Wire Train and how they evolved their sound towards the end of their time together, particularly on the self titled record - sublime.

Well, I was at that Hammersmith Palais gig - May 1986!

I was in the front row and WT again, were superb. The Waterboys then played for hours and very late on in the night, they came back and played Purple Rain with Jeff Trott joining on lead guitar. It was quite something and I know i have pictures and a recording somewhere!

My love, borderline obsession with the early, and best incarnation of The Waterboys, led me to see them live many times in the early to mid 80’s. They played the Town and Country Club in Kentish Town on the release of This is The Sea. Sinead O’Connor came on stage for her live London debut that night. The support band was Wire Train who were magnificent! Jeff Trott was wonderful and I had a whole new band to obsess over. Still love all their albums and they’re played all the time. Please thank him for the music!

Karl Wallinger was an absolute hero of mine. So sad he’s gone.
Here’s a slightly different take on the Robbie Williams/Shes The One story..
Be sure to listen to the version KW plays..

Newmarket Blue had an ongoing and largely irrational hatred for GB.

Obvs all the original Hackney Massive:
Cthulhu, Vestie, BEBOF, Mullet et al

But also, Heathlander, Newmarket Blue and I’m sure there was a poster with little more than a postcode for a moniker..

What was Malcolm’s user name?

George Hirst

The January window was a spectacular success, especially given the majority were signed full time to the club. So what do we think about Hirst? Such a strong player and brilliant finisher: For me, the manner in which we’ve finished the season could make him want to stay if Leicester will do a deal. Do we think we can sign him permanently?

Game Changed when we switched

Yep, agree with this summary. I was sat within 10 feet of Mckenna and could hear his directions to the team all game. Really vocal and clear in both instruction and frustration, especially in that first half - the Jackson / Edwards switch made a difference and as he said in the interview, he had to make that reset given the surprise in Morecambe tactics vs what he’d expected.

He’s a smart manager and we’re lucky to have him.
