Millwall 3-4 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 23:23:47

Edge of the seat stuff does not cover up the woeful defending. A decent side will tear us apart.

However, for now, let's take the points and move on to Saturday.

Jewell: Strike Pair Have Played Vital Role
at 11:15:59

Key points are he has lost weight and got fitter. Always had the ability but when you are carrying too much weight it does tell. Think Jewell putting his top from last season on the seats in the Cobbold simply reinforced the fact.

Seems to relish playing as part of a pair, sharing the workload. Long may it continue.

We will need cover as one of them will take a knock at some point.

Eastman Joins Colchester

Good luck to Tom.

Always thought he gave 100% and was out of position at right back. Not sure he has the pace for centre back and this is something he needs to work on; perhaps a slower pace of forward may suit.

OK Doctor_Albran - why the Scottish based avatar then?

Surely there must be a host of angry English stereotypes you could use or is this your inherent jealousy of the master race coming through.

Keane Hits Out at Critics
at 09:12:56

We pay our money and are entitled to our opinions.

Saturday was the equivalent of going to a Robbie Williams concert and hearing him sing big band swing tunes rather than Take That hits - you know the magic is in there but there is a failure to understand what keeps the fanbase entertained. (OK - crass example but you hopefully get my point.)

I am encouraged by playing younger players but at the end of the season we won't all be saying 'Oh well, another year in the Championship but hey we played more young players than any other team' - results are the only measure. I felt Coventry were easily there for the taking and no amount of fan support would have changed the ability of the players to conjure something from that formation. Outplayed in the first half tactically, surprised it took Roy to half time to change it.

Anyway, be very interested to see if we persevere with 1 up front against Northampton!

Keane Bemoans Lack of Goals
at 10:48:36

1 up front at home against a side like Coventry is not a good message to the fans. It's alright if you win but even then it's not really the entertainment we are all seeking.

Coventry were there for the taking, we just didn't look like a team that could do it. Scotland can hold the ball up but too few from Midfield coming through to benefit.

Best of luck David and may thanks for the great service - always 110%.

You are a model professional and any team should be glad to have you both on the pitch and off. Your experience will undoubtedly help your future career both on and off the pitch.

Both Wrights Amongst Those Released
at 12:12:06

David Wright is the only concern for me. Always gives 110% and is a solid defender. Not necessarily Premiership standard but we are not a Premiership club at the moment either.

Will be disappointed if he goes and if so thanks for the tremendous club contribution (off and on field) during the time here and best wishes for the future.

Model professional who always give 110%, vocal on pitch and does put up to score important goals. Committed to club both verbally and in performance and is a no brainer for re-signing. Do this deal now.

Cardiff Linked With Garvan Move
at 09:21:34

Well done 'nobrain'; agree.

Have seen him perform poorly but his commitment has never been in question and he has been known to turn a game.

If anyone here was treated in their job the way he has been treated this season, it would be only natural to consider alternatives. This could be the opportunity he has been waiting for and is certainly a better option than Colchester!

He may have to move to Wales but at least he is wanted and at his age, with his International career to think about, this should not even be a consideration.

Wright in Team of the Week
at 09:36:10

Always been a fan of David Wright. While has his moments, there is a level of commitment and drive from him probably only matched by Bruce and Walters.

Think he was unlucky to lose his place and the Rosenior/Edwards partnership that is working well may prevent him recapturing the right back slot automatically. His lack of a left foot is problematic as defenders know he will always be looking to cut in but his performances at left back have been better than Delaney. Agree with other posts that Delaney may be better at Centre Back.

Roll on the weekend.
