Hi Andrewpc who do you want as manager then? lambert is available and seems a half decent appointment to me and his cv stands up to better scrutiny than mr Hurst. Your comment about the FA cup underscores my earlier post ie a lot of Ipswich fans are still living in the past it's a long long time since Ipswich was ‘ a once great club' fans need to get real ITFC is currently a very very average club sorry to be realistic but that's the current situation mate..
I really despair with some of the muppets who post on this site.Paul Lambert is Scottish he is not a budgie he is a football manager and will work for whoever pays his wages. So please give the guy a chance he has a better managerial record than Hurst who was portrayed as the messiah by some on this site and has shown to be completely out of his depth. His style of football has been worse than MM and no one can question that. I also get fed up with the ‘this once great club' comments posted by so many on this site. I have been watching Ipswich since the mid 80s and apart from a few years with Lyall and Burley the football has been pretty mediocre. The bottom line is that Ipswich are a fairly average championship team and hopefully Mr Lambert can keep us in the division so forget all the moronic budgie comments and support the new manager...get real guys
1RWR the Waghorn deal was all about money mate the club simply cashing in on a good deal...I would have kept him as imo it's not a great idea to sell your better players hey ho
And so far the extent of the changes haven't yielded many points. I remain unconvinced about this squad and the amount of loanees but it's still early days let's see where we are at Christmas hopefully making progress...
This was a no brainer for McAuley...playing in front of 50000 every other week, European football, boyhood club and the chance to work with Stevie G versus a long season in a transitional team...
Being honest not a great deal of skill on show. As others have commented Edwards looks half decent as did chalobah. Harrison looked lively and willing hopefully he can mature into a half decent striker at this level...also quite impressed with young Morris. I think sears may move on...2 bad goals conceded so as others have said work in progress but need to beat Rotherham next week.
Ok we sell Waghorn and make a decent profit... question is who would replace him I really don't understand why we thinking of selling him unless we have an adequate replacement in mind
While I welcome the change of manager I do question all the pallaver regarding all the previous interviews when this guy was clearly the number one target from the outset and please don't say that Ross didn't impress Evans enough seems to me Evans was going through the motions and biding his time till this guys season had finished...let's hope his choice is right and we can start to play some football for a change.
Start playing attractive football and the crowds will return in the meantime I agree the club should try ticket incentives I gave up my season ticket this year due to the crass decision by the club to withdraw my over 60s concession so this year I am paying as I go but being selective as to which games I attend. They do need to review their pricing structure for next season...
Completely outplayed and outpassed today it could have been 5 or 6. My first home game of the season and a bit disappointed am not going to slag the team off after taking 12 points in 5 games but Fulham showed how the game can be played. Keep possession and pass the ball. Our midfield never got a sniff today...
