Jewell acted with dignity throughout his whole time managing town. He did an excellent job in clearing out the mess Keane left us with and the fruits of his labour may not been seen for some time. Elliott Hewitt, Aaron Cresswell and Tommy Smith are forming what will be the core of our defence for years to come, along with Scott Loach. Paul Taylor will be a great investment for us in the years to come, and should a number of these loans (N'Daw, DJ Campbell, Henderson?, Murphy) become signings in January, he would have left the club in a much better state than when he came in.
That said, I'm very happy with Merlin the Magician and hopefully he will be the one to get the best out of this squad. |

How many knee-jerk reactions have been posted on this site in the last 12 hours?! It is clear we need at least 2 new defenders, and a creative midfielder. The club will string some results together, and we will make the playoffs this year.
Give Jewell credit for the players he has bought in, and have faith that he is a quality manager, sees the players in training every day and has got 2 teams promoted in the past. If there is anyone more qualified than him to turn a team around, then i'd like to know. I for one hope he gets two seasons at least to stamp his mark on this team.

Clearly not bothered about the result, which has been said before. As town fans, surely all we want is promotion this season? Going out can only be a good thing. Keith Andrews will bring a lot to our team; and another centre back will provide good competition, and hopefully a tighter defence that last year. |
