Exeter City 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 17:36:34

I don't really know where we go from here. We cannot beat an Exeter reserve team. All the pressure and possession and chances mean nothing if you don't score more goals than the opposition. This simple football principle is not a new thing. Good to see Bishop and Sears back, that is where the positives end. On a day where we are used to playing in the 3rd round of the FA Cup we are knocked out of the EFL Trophy by Exeter Reserves. Very sad day.

Portsmouth 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report

As soon as I saw the team i thought I hope Lambert knows what he is doing because if this goes wrong he will get no end of grief.
It did go wrong. Nsiala booked early, then nearly booked again, then nearly booked again and then eventually taken off. Why on earth did he go with Wilson and Donacien on the bench? Then Keane ahead of Jackson who was possibly our best player last week (although that is not saying much).
Another goal conceded means another goalkeeping change. How can a defense trust a keeper and likewise the other way if they are constantly changing.
My main concern is we have these good midfielders (or so we think) but they can't dominate a game. They are frequently out played by the opposition.
It is not the end of the world, we are still 3rd despite all of this but something needs to be done to stop this run. Fast. Otherwise all the goodwill built up will be gone.

Aston Villa 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report

When you are at the bottom of the table you never seem to get the run of the ball. However, we are our own worst enemy giving away silly fouls in and around the area resulting in free kicks, penalties and ultimately goals. In 4 of the last 5 games we have given teams a goal head start with a penalty and that is something we cannot afford to do. It comes down to quality in the end, the opposition are just better and faster and we cannot keep up. We keep coming up short (nearly) every week, although it is not for the want of trying.

A must win game today and we did. Promise from the new signings, Collins a breath of fresh air at the back and Pennington, although not the long term answer, gave us some stability at right back, which we have not had in a while. Need more strength in the middle of the park but hopefully that will come in with Huws and Nydam. As we have said before we need to go on a run now and a miracle could happen. COYB

McCarthy: Fitting Tribute to Sir Bobby
at 20:59:41

Totally stunned. Seems he is going out of his way to annoy the fans at every opportunity. I wonder what Sir Bobby or Sir Alf would has said in a post match interview. I highly doubt it would have been anything of the sort. On a special day for the club off the pitch he has poisoned it with his own vile comments blatantly aimed at the fans. It is F@@@ers like us that pay his wages. How can anyone respect him now.

Town 0-1 Rotherham - Match Report
at 18:11:44

Today was an absolute disgrace. The team selection was unforgivable today in setting up for a draw against a team that is struggling at the bottom of the league. Playing three defensive midfielders with not an ounce of creativity between the three of them is an absolute joke. Douglas must be one of the worst midfielders I have ever seen put on an Ipswich shirt, but because he is 'one of the lads', he will not be dropped.

Four of the midfielders we had on the bench (Pringle, Bru, Foley and Feeney) are miles ahead of the three that played today. Not to forget Tabb who we have been told on numerous times by Mick that he is "different class", so classy he is not even on the bench...

Sears once again ran and ran but there are only so many times you can run back to left back to retrieve the ball and attempt to run with it, realising that the midfield are to scared of the ball to help you, before it dawns that it is a lost cause and the attack breaks down. I cannot criticise him as he tries to make things happen.

Bart has dragged us up to the position in the league we are in and without his saves in recent weeks the playoffs would have long been a distant memory.

We were very poor on Tuesday night but somehow we managed to scrape a win. Lets face it we would not have scored if we had not been given that penalty.

We will not go up this season, or next season or indeed any season with Mick and Evans in charge.

They have done nothing to convince me to renew my season ticket for another season of absolute rubbish, and I fear, for the club's sake, I am not alone in thinking this.

Very bad day.

We made changes tonight but we still played the same back four. Chambers once again proving he is not a right back. How come virtually everyone can see this but MM can't? Parr on the wing smells of desperation to me.

What does Bru have to do to get on the pitch? Same central midfield pairing and same result, no creativity and no chances created.

To loyal to players that are just not up to it at the moment. Chambers is clearly not a right back. We keep getting told we have a great squad, yet we see the same 11 players (subject to injuries) every week.

Until team changes are made we are going nowhere.

Poor defence, poor midfield (especially the central pairing), and no plan b. It's all becoming a little bit predictable. You can't keep playing the same 2 in central midfield and expect a different result. Douglas very very poor, and Skuse can not seem to pass forward. The end result is the defence is given the ball to hoof up the pitch, over the central midfield that is not capable of doing anything creative or constructive with the ball, and it comes straight back again.

Really thought it was our turn this year....but we are a mile away.

Reading 5-1 Town - Match Report
at 23:18:33

Central midfield was non existent again tonight, Reading just walked through time and time again. Every time they attacked they looked like they were going to score. Douglas was poor yet again and he has done very little to impress in any game this season. The third goal just about summed up the night, surely Gerken can not start against Leeds. A massive set back tonight.

Mings awful again, lost his man for the first goal, can not pass and continuously got beaten by his opposite number. Parr at left back in his place is a must for Tuesday, but then again he was our best player today, playing in midfield.

Another worrying thing is our inability to defend set pieces or long balls at the moment. The watertight defence of earlier in the season seems to have sprung a serious leak.

We had so many corners but could not convert any of them. At a loss as to what has gone wrong since the beginning of the year.

The season is not over just yet but anything less than 4 points from the next 2 games I fear it will be shortly.
