I wonder if there is any prospect of safe standing in
at 15:24 12 May 2024

I might be wrong, but I thought Mark Ashton ruled out safe standing at one of the fans forums as we had to offer the same in the away end. And the Cobbold Stand is suitable.

I guess this may change depending on where we put the away fans next season. We'll want this to be in the cheap seats, as can only charge away fans £30 in the PL.

To think that £1M probably allowed us to sign Sam Morsy

Not a goal, but who knows how it affected the result. I don't think Southampton's red card would have been a sending off.

VAR

IMO your question is the biggest problem with VAR.

Clear and obvious errors being overruled is a good thing. But once they have to draw lines, for me it's not offside. Give the advantage to the attacker like the old days.

I suspect quite a few of our goals this season, for and against, would have been ruled out. But other than Preston away when the ref apologised, I doubt many were clear and obvious errors.

And this is why fans get disillusioned with the PL.

I love our current squad and as much as I want to be successful so accept we need to invest, I don't want mercenaries playing for Ipswich.

So who could start on negative points?
at 10:23 12 May 2024

My understanding from listening to Kieran Maguire, is that PL clubs would need to vote in favour of a financial penalty. And surely no clubs outside the big six/seven would for the reasons you've said.

Also the big clubs would then fail UEFA's rules, so wouldn't be eligible to play in the Champions League/Europa League.

It's complicated!

Haven't they already been punished.

Or are they likely to face more charges next season?

Amazing to think that 5 of that team played against Huddersfield.

We already know that Leicester could start next season on negative points. But who else?

If Everton go into administration, I guess they will do it ASAP so they can take the hit this season.

Obviously Man City are facing these 115 charges, but unless they are relegated will probably still win the league even with a points deduction.

If L*eds are promoted, I think they could be facing a points deduction for outstanding payments of £190m.

And Chelsea could be in trouble if they don't sell players before 30th June.

Is anyone else walking an FFP tightrope?

Brilliant. I was hoping the club would put something like this on TownTV. Maybe they still will once the media team have finished their well earned celebrations.

Remember last season against Burnley?

Completely agree.

We need to follow KMc and keep our humility.

Some fans are clearly looking at the table and thinking it's only Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford etc. Those fans only need to take a look at their squads and count the number of international players, to realise what a massive challenge it will be next season.

I expect the club will limit the number of times you can use the resale site, to stop people retaining season tickets and not attending matches.

Something along the lines of, you can only miss 3 league matches and/or put 3 tickets up for resale, otherwise can't renew the following season.

The club need to stamp out unused season tickets.

There are 2 seats in front of me that weren't used at all last season, apart from the Huddersfield match.

Now the club has the ticket resale site, there is zero excuse for not putting your season ticket up for sale, or donating it to the Foundation.

So many people are desperate for tickets, but those that can afford it are 'hogging' their seats on the off chance they want to go to a match.

I follow England away so have tickets to all our Euro matches.

But I vowed to accept a defeat on penalties if we got promotion. So I'm just going to enjoy the trip with my mates and whatever will be, will be.

KMc would provide Sky with far too much insight.

They would much rather have idiots like Clinton Morrison spouting rubbish. Remember him saying at HT v Coventry to not worry about the performance, just get a result. Despite that being the total opposite of how we approached games all season.

TownTV
at 12:37 10 May 2024

Generally I'm only interested in KMc's interviews and Town in Five, so haven't felt it necessary to subscribe to TownTV.

But I do wonder if more content will only be available to TownTV subscribers next season.

I would have liked to watch Mark Ashton's end of season dinner speech and I'm hoping at least some of Town In The Premier League is available tonight for free.

I understand the club want to maximise revenue and it's only the price of a pint, but I think it will be a shame if too much content is restricted.

Should europe be the expectations next season?
at 16:29 9 May 2024

Surely this is a joke, right?

My biggest fear for next season isn't that we might get smashed every week. It's that fans won't have realistic expectations and will start booing if we get pumped at home by Bournemouth, Brentford or Brighton.

Omari
at 09:47 9 May 2024

I've got a good feeling about this.

Omari wants to stay
KMc wants him to stay
Chelsea want him to play on a regular basis in the PL

I think he'll sign a new contract at Chelsea and we'll pay a loan fee to keep him at Portman Road next season.

Unless a club is prepared to offer £££s to sign him permanently, I can't see there is a better option for Chelsea or Omari.

I've just flicked through these requirements.

Unbelievable how much things have changed in the last 22 years. Can see why Luton had to rebuild a whole stand. The logistics of implementing some of this within our iconic but dated stadium is going to be a challenge.
