And Liamolly .... No we are not guaranteed 90 mins... of course not... all they can do is make a decision on the moment... Its fine now so as it stands we are playing... If conditions do get bad it may be called off... yes it would be disapointing ... but that's life... you cant postpone it now in case it gets bad later... you just never know... take yesterday for example we were forecast 10 cms ... schools closed early... And we ended up getting nothing! |

Agreed... Good work ITFC ...As long as the pitch is playable and all access/egress points are clear game on I say... Its up to people to make the decision if they want to 'brave' the conditions... like others say... if too cold for you or worried about roads and rail... don't Go!... I for one am chuffed and would travel on ski's if I had to! |

ArnieM/Jas0999... I agree totally... but was just stating the fact that when people keep saying why can we afford to pay Bullard's wages and not Austin's. Bullard might be seen as a quick fix just for this season. Also they might have learnt a little from Lee Martin's contract. Austin is unproven at this level.. same as Parkin was, and we all remember how that went!
..... However.. I still would have liked him here... but at least we're targeting these sorts of players now |

Don't forget that Bullards wages (whatever % we are paying) is only until the end of the season...Austin's wage demands may have been lower, but it would have been for the length of the contract ie 3/4 years.
For example... and I think someone has posted similar before..
Bullard.... £25,000 x 15 Weeks(approx) = £375,000
Austin..... £12,000 x 156 weeks (3 years) £1,872,000
obviously these figures are totally random... but I am guessing this is why we can afford to pay Bullard higher wages... Not saying I agree.. I would have loved to seen Austin in a town shirt.

Got to love peoples gesture of some of the comments on here to give New Chester some money they are not entitled ... However, we've developed the player over the last years ... payed his conderable higher wages.. (and then no-doubt paid him even more.. when Stoke tapped him up before)
... As mentioned we received zero help when we were in the strife and other clubs took advantage .. a club going under is effectively bad management .. Yes sad to see ... but why reward the new owners ... who probably took everything over for peanuts!
Agree if people want a good gesture ... give them a friendly every year and those poeple who are saying give Chester money can go along and support the team and chuck a few quid in the bucket!... I wonder if you will all go and feel so strong about the situation then?????
Or a real good gesture use some of it for local charities ... not another club!! The 'real' Ipswich Way!!

Not sure what game Paul Hart (sore Loser) was watching ... thought we were clearly the better side... yes they should have had one... but if thats the case we should have had 6 or 7! ... Well done town... great performance.. good to see Norris back with a very solid 50 mins or so... Stern John was very quiet and stood out as not having the same desire as everyone else on the pitch today.. not for us in my opinion!
