I am looking forward to a new start as much as the players! Keane obviously was respected by the older players but not so much the younger ones. In any company the 'boss' is going to have those who don't like them - for whatever reasons. The trick is making sure that more are on your side than aren't. Keane's biggest failing was his man management skills with those players who needed a confidence boost. Let's hope Jewell is able to bring the squad together.
Good professional, seems a good bloke too. But I felt he never gave us enough going forward. Full backs nowadays need to be like extra wingers and have high mobility up and down the pitch. Wright never did this.
How wise it is to let these players leave will only really be shown by the quality of players that replace them. A waiting game and as most things Keane will either be proved right or wrong in the fullness of time. None of these players fall into the irreplacable category that someone like Wickham would (for me at least)
