Exeter City 1-1 Ipswich Town (4-2 on pens) - Highlights
at 13:24:41

Shocking result.

This transition will take time and i expect the final piece to click for us will be the goals. It will take time for everyone to understand and become effective in the roles being asked of them. A big part of that is knowing the type of runs the forward players will be making and the forward players knowing when and how the midfielders will release the ball.

It will be really interesting to see this develop as we watch. I don't expect we will be hitting our stride until October, but we will need some results between now and then!

Oshilaja the Tenth Man?

Not sure about this one. Very disappointing not to get Tilt and it feels like we've cut our noses off to spite our face on that one.

Interesting reaction to Bowyers departure on social media from the Blackpool fans, and an insight into why we were unable to deal with the owners here: https://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/football/blackpool-fc/social-media-reac

Town Confirm Jackson Signing
at 13:28:04

This has been an interesting summer and certainly the start of a new era for us.

MM has received a lot of stick on here, but what he did well was turn Ipswich from a club with a decimated youth and scouting system and a team full of loans and 'experienced pros' into a team that was capable of competing in the championship (although it was painful to watch). While we still used loans throughout his time, there were at least effective additions rather than the core of our team (think back to all of our loan goalkeepers!). Through his (usually) astute signings and management of the club we can all look to the future with a bit of excitement. Finally.

PH has a clear vision for his Ipswich team, and while many of those players will not have experienced championship football i don't think that will be as much of a problem as some think. The England world cup team lacked experience, and lacked goals in the case of Sterling. However what it did have was a clear and effective way of playing, with players that fit into his system.

I think we will make lots of mistakes this season, and some players will take longer to acclimatise than others. From the outside looking in, the players that PH has brought in look as if they are all determined to be succesful at Ipswich and prove themselves.

I would take a team full of committed Ipswich players with something to prove rather than a team full of loans and prem flops.

Thank you MM...and thank god for PH!
