Ipswich Town 4-3 Rotherham United - Match Report
at 15:13:46

The strength and confidence in defence is driven by a confidence in the goalkeeper. Unfortunately Hladky has been making more and more mistakes of late. Personally, I think Walton needs a run of games to restore confidence in our defence and help get us across the line.

Preston North End 3-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 17:47:10

Last season we broke records for the number of clean sheets. Hladky has too many errors in him. Again today he was terrible playing out from the back. Whilst Walton hasn’t had great games this season, I think we should give him a run in the first team again.
He will soon settle back into his stride and is a safer pair of hands (and feet) than Hladky.

McNally Among Defenders On Town's List
at 11:55:31

If this is true, it sounds more like a loan than a permanent deal. I can’t see Burnley off loading someone they signed last season on a 4 year contract.

Morsy Linked With Saudi Clubs
at 22:34:17

Whilst Morsy still has something to offer Ipswich, Saudi clubs tend to pay over the odds for players. So it wouldn’t be the end of the world if he did go. Rather than going there on a free next season. We could use the income for another young hungry midfielder

McKenna: Camara and Baggott Set For Loans, Pigott in Discussions On Town Future
at 11:57:53

Just a question, whilst Morsey and Mass were brilliant for us last year, they are no spring chickens and won't go on for too many seasons to come. Are our current crop of central midfielders strong enough to fill their boots? I'm hoping Jack Taylor will show us some class and potentially be a captain in waiting.

McKenna: Camara and Baggott Set For Loans, Pigott in Discussions On Town Future
at 11:50:03

I've never rated Piggott. He's only really had one season where his goal tally was good. He's not done enough since. I trust that we're working very hard on trying to find better strikers than we have in the building. If we can't find the right striker to bring in on a permanent, basis I can see us dipping into the loan market. We might be able to get an out of favour Premier League striker in, or some young upcoming talent that is currently outside of Championship budgets.
Sending the other two on loan makes perfect sense for both them and us.

McKenna: We Can Talk About It After Fleetwood
at 19:19:54

Great preparation, great performance, great result, on to the next!
Only concern was the knock picked up by Broadhead. Really hope that isn't serious. He's turning out to be one of our best players for now.

Ashton: The Cash We've Spent on Player Trading is Literally Zero
at 17:14:02

If you take the money that we've spend versus the money that we've brought in over that period, last year, this year and “next year”, the cash we've spent is literally zero. That's player trading, that's what we do.
Sorry I'm confused.. how can we include “next year” in this equation unless we are planning on selling players?

Derby County 0-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 18:10:04

I want to congratulate the away support. You were as magnificent as the team on the pitch today. We are in fantastic form as a team and our results are just reward for all the hard work being put in.
Our opening goal today was class and wouldn't look out of place in the Premier League. I hold my hands up that I was beginning to doubt that automatic promotion was achievable a few weeks ago. Now my faith is restored! COYB!

Fabulous result!! Massive 3 points.
Walton outstanding in goal! Good performance all round. A few silly yellow cards but I can forgive those. Really happy with this win. So important to keep our run going.
I'm full of confidence against the Shrews next week..

@saxonblue74 Agree totally. It's great to see we're making progress. In past seasons we've slipped up against these teams. Really praying we can keep this momentum going and finally put a long run of wins together so that we can dislodge Plymouth.

Ipswich Town 4-0 Burton Albion - Match Report
at 10:52:07

Whilst, like everyone else, I'm loving these last few performances, they have been against teams at the bottom of the table.
I'm really hoping we don't get over confident but continue to build on the momentum and confidence into the matches against Bolton away, Derby away and Barnsley.. as each of these are potentially 6 pointers and could make or break our automatic promotion hopes.

McKenna: We Need to Stay Focused and Hungry and Back Up Last Week's Win
at 15:23:04

One good win against the bottom team in the league is all well and good. My concerns leading into that match haven't gone away. Any team who have been thumped as heavily as MK have in the last two matches are going to be extra determined to stifle us. This will not be an easy fixture, especially with a new Manager in place.
Let's hope we can get an early goal to open them up, or we could be back to another long frustrating afternoon.
COYB Get the three points we so badly need!

Bristol Rovers 0-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 22:10:55

Unfortunately, the same predictable formation, and substitutions.
Stubbornly sticking to this “formula” has cost us an automatic promotion spot.
I'm not convinced that the players have belief in our game plan any more either.
They are too slow and sloppy with their passing, and I couldn't see any generals on the pitch driving us forward with urgency.
If we carry on like this we will be lucky to keep a playoff spot. Come on Kieran, sort it out! Try a new formation, maybe even play 2 up front? Or pack the Midfield or play 4-2-4 even. I don't care what formation you choose as long as we try something different!

Harness: We Need to Win a Lot of Games, There's No Getting Around That
at 17:19:44

The next few games will make or break our season. We've dropped far too many points in recent weeks and will be lucky to get automatic promotion, unless we see a dramatic improvement in winning games.
The very predictable story awaits us.. The opposition will defend in numbers, probably play man 2 man marking and try to hit us on the break as that's been our undoing for many matches.
We will play the same lineup we always do. If we don't make an early break through, they will grow in confidence and we will doubt ourselves and make silly mistakes.
Second half they will come out and frustrate us further before we change our front 4 at around 65-70 minutes..
We will then face a barrage of attacking in the last few minutes as we slowly pass the ball around at the back..
We need 7 wins from the next 7 games to stand any chance of automatic promotion. We therefore need a plan B if things aren't going our way!
I love this club and I am desperate for us to put a winning streak together so we can climb out of this league. I really like McKenna and all he's done so far to give us exciting football and attracting some exciting talent.. I just don't want our predictability to cost us promotion.

Cambridge United 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 18:07:50

This season was the first time I truly believed we would be promoted. Unfortunately, that optimism has been replaced with a realisation that we will likely be spending another year in League One. :-(
We started the season with a style of play that was new and refreshing, high press, high tempo.. But that is now just one dimensional.. everyone knows how we will line up.. everyone knows we'll switch our forwards after 65-70 mins.. There is no element of surprise anymore.
We pass the ball around at the back very slowly.. often getting caught in possession.. Why can't we pass quickly.. even switching quickly from one side to the other.. we just slowly and predictably pass short..
Like others have said, why don't we ever make runs into the box.. run at their players and draw a foul? Give teams something else to worry about rather than watch us pass from side to side on the edge or their box, rarely even trying a long range shot..
We don't have a plan B! We don't know how to play any other formation and our predictability is costing us points every week now.
If we make the playoffs.. and it is becoming an “if”, we will need to have something else up our sleeve!
I'm a lifelong Town fan and I'm desperate for us to reach the heights that we all strive for. Kieran McKenna is the best Manager we've had in a long long time. Whilst his level headedness has been a positive quality up to now, I really need him to get angry and passionate about these poor results.. Put some fire in the belly of this team! We need a kick up the backside, some fresh ideas on the pitch, move the ball far more sharply, a varied formation.. (dare I say 2 up front) and run at the opposition into their box, draw some fouls, take more shots!
COYB! We have the quality in the dressing room, we have a good Manager, we have supportive owners and we have the best fans in the league!! Let's make this happen!!
