McCarthy Proud of His Team

Like or dislike him but the way Mick has built this team and what he has added to it is remarkable under such difficult circumstances. A Mick McCarthy team may not play beautiful attacking football but you can never question their determination and commitment to the club. We've improved massively over the year and were slowly becoming a team ready to push for promotion. Next season maybe too soon but the boys have performed way beyond a lot of people's expectations including mine.

Town 2-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Great to finish the season of with a win although it wasn't really the most entertaining game. Was a great atmosphere towards the end even though it was to try and shut the Wednesday fans up. My only problem was young Marriott not giving a decent run around as there wasn't anything to play for, but certainly have great hopes for him in the near future. An improved season although fustrating at times but were rebuilding a good team slowly but surely. Play the transfer window right this summer and who knows.. Maybe next season.

McCarthy Wouldn't Stand in Cresswell's Way

Cressy is a quality left back and if he does go ( which seems pretty certain ) he will be missed much more than people think. Mings will be a decent replacement but will need a few seasons to reach the standard that cressy set. And considering it means its another job for Mick to try and find a backup in the window. But if it seems to be the only way that Mick can get some money to try and bring in other players that we desperately need, I don't think he really has any choice. Apart from Cressy there really isn't anyone else we can let go for a decent amount.

Town Depleted for Final Game

I've also renewed my season ticket without being really optimistic about next season but not going to stop because the football hasn't been pretty. Hoping the youngsters get a decent run around today ( although they should be starting ). For me the rebuilding process we are going through atm is not going to be completed this summer or even next. Also Judging Micks comments there doesn't seem his going to get any money to spend on players so all this "creativity" and "pace" that we need and everyone is shouting for IMO are not comming anytime soon. One, maybe two if lucky but we need a lot of it to really have a big shout for the play offs next season. But in Mick I trust and il be there next season to go through it all once more.

McCarthy: Year Has Seen Big Turnaround

My expectations for next season will depend on how well we do in the transfer market this summer. If we only add one or two average players for me there will be no improvement were we finish next season. Need creativity and pace in this team soo badly and those type of players are not cheap. Not getting my hopes up but deffinetly curious who mick will look to bring in.

After watching the game although slightly disappointed its been a good season and were obviously rebuilding. I agree with a lot comments expressing their fustration with our playing style but the truth is we have a lot of average players IMO that for me are not really capable of fighting for promotion but we've come close which for me is a great achievement. And like I said before this is a huge transfer window for ITFC, a lot of players need coming in ( and considering the type of players we need its not going to be easy) as do some need going out. Looking forward to next season and hopefully the boys will receive a great reception next week for a great season.

Brighton Win to Move Up to Sixth

Doesn't really change anything. Burnley was a must win game even if Brighton dropped points. Amazing season and already looking forward to next. Massive three months transfer wise for ITFC.

McCarthy Making No Predictions

It really can go either way. The atmosphere us fans have created in recent games has been fantastic. As long as we stay positive until the final whistle of the final game then who knows. It's been a roller coaster season as a ITFC fan as its been great to be a part of it. Lets make as much noise as possible for the final two games and if it doesn't go our way then oh well it happens. It's been a great season for me and although some have stopped dreaming I won't.

Town 2-2 AFC Bournemouth

I understand what your saying Keaneish but can you really look at the team we have now and say it's far superior to Bournemouths? In my opinion out of the top 8 or 9 teams we have the weakest squad. I was simply stating out that because of the squad we have now, what we have achieved this year has been great. And it's been nice to finally get excited towards the end of the season and be excited for the future of ITFC. I'm not saying i havn't been left baffled by Micks decisions at times but unlike others i look at what he has achieved at the club with such poor financial backing and don't Moan when thing goes wrong. We dont have the best squad in the league Far from it, but Mick is the perfect manager to build a squad for us cabale of reaching the big time. Yes maybe this year might not be the year, but who is to say that next year won't be. IF ME backs him and gives him some money that he deserves then we will go that little more closer to were we belong. Just think abouts what he has done for us before looking at what he has done wrong.

I simply dont understand how any true ITFC fans can come on here and question Micks 'Tactics'. Yes we may have gone defensive to early and maybe there were players he could of brought on to try and kill the game off, but i'd dread to think were we would be if it wasn't for Mick, probaly playing in League 1 or again fighting for championship survival. Just look at the teams that QPR, Reading, Wigan and derby have and compare it to ours. It's been an incredible season for me being a ITFC fan and you Moaners may say we have lost big number of points from winning positions because of Micks tactics, well we have gained alot of points from loosing positions because of the bond and amazing chemistry that Mick has given this team. These players play for the shirt not the money and as a fan that's all i ask for. No matter how good or how bad we play i'm Proud to be a ITFC through the bad and good. COYB
