Fans Across Globe Set to Meet Up for Blackburn Clash
at 15:43:58

London folk... This one is made for the Famous 3 Kings, surely? Watch our match on the bigger screens and keep an eye on what Derby are doing on the smaller tellys.

The question is... will you last the distance between 12:15 and the boxing match at 4am or whatever?!

McGoldrick Out for 10 Weeks
at 14:47:41

Very disappointing news, but this is the reality of having a small squad. However, as us Town fans often have to, let's try and take the positives out of the situation...

As others have pointed out, this can be the opportunity for Taylor to have a proper run out - he is somewhat of a forgotten man and this could make or break his career with Ipswich. I hope he gets the proper chance he needs to show us his value.

If SEB improves his fitness, it's also his chance to shine. We know what he can do at this level - but does he still have it in him? We will find out...

Bringing Jack Marriott back and gelling with the side - even if for the last 10-15 mins of matches will also improve his confidence and build on the experience he's had in the lower leagues.

Does Didz' injury also take the promotion pressure off us, somewhat? I didn't think we had enough in us to make the play-offs, even with McGoldrick fit and starting. So now, i see it firmly as this season being what most of us knew it would be - another transitional period.

Unfortunate though it is, we'll just have to see what the other lads up top really have in them. This will be a worthwhile exercise in itself, allowing MM to see who can cut it when the going is tough. Just think that it could be worse - we have had a very stable first half of the season and that had we been in a similar position to last year, this truly would be a disaster.

Fantastic blog, as always. Draw dubs are a bit risky for me, but share your accumulator thoughts. Up the SE1 Blues!

@carsey - Good point, but i dont think anyone is suggesting that all matches would be subject to promotions etc. Maybe just a handful a season - say 4, thereby not annoying or disadvantaging s/ticket holders.

Glad to see we'll be taking more than 1.3K up there on the coaches.

Some great suggestions for ticket promotions being floated around on here - someone needs to tell Clegg to take a look! These ideas aint rocket science though - they're standard business techniques for improving sales.

Clearly, the amount of season ticket holders is decreasing because, let's face it, we're not as entertaining to watch as we were a few years back and also, we're just not winning enough - a great point made by @alfromcol. If we can put a run together, the seats will begin filling up. We're not getting as many match ticket purchases for the same reasons and also because, for spontaneous attendees, i.e. people that decide on the spur of the moment that they fancy watching the Town, £30 (SBR lower, on the day) is far too expensive!

I particularly like the 3for2 idea for some matches. As a exiled fan living in London, (sorry to repeat another story about how tight times are for everyone, but...) getting to a home match pushes a day's expenses to around £80 (give or take £20), with a high proportion of this being made up by the cost of the match day ticket. If a 3for2 deal were available, this would make the ticket cost £20, which IMO is far more reasonable and justifiable. Also, speaking on a personal level, i wouldnt care if promotions are for the 'lesser' clubs either. I go to Portman Road to watch Ipswich - not West Ham, Brum or whoever.

It is as clear as day to most of us that the current pricing structure just aint working... Anyone got Clegg's email address?

Free Coach Travel to Blackpool as Town Say Sorry
at 13:41:07

Fair play to them tbh...

I'd love to believe that this has been funded through, what would amount to a miniscule % cut in the playing/management staff's wages, but i doubt this is the case. Anyway, it's the thought that counts, right?

Onwards and upwards.

Supporters\' Club: Grow Up or Stay Away
at 00:06:00

Is it just me, or has this comment by Ms Edwards been made strategically, at a time when the majority of the public are perceiving a lot of young people as 'yobs' or 'hooligans'?

My point is similar to those made by many others - our club has supporters from all backgrounds - class, ethnic background, gender, sexuality, age etc etc. The thing we all have in common is that we're Ipswich fans and very proud of it. It's a fact of life that people chose to be passionate about and celebrate the things they love in different ways - football is no exception.

I think Ms Edwards may just have to accept that some of fans enjoy a few pints before a match and enjoy a bit of banter. Agreed, sometimes people can lose their inhibitions at matches and forget that not everyone shares their views. They can also say and do things they dont really mean - this has always been part of terrace culture and likely always will be. In my mind, everyone pays their money to get in - surely they should be free to express themselves pretty much how they please?

Let's not lose perspective here - no one's been hurt, no one's died, things are so much better than they were back 20-30 years ago. We're a great club with passionate fans - we just sometimes differ in how we demonstrate our passion, and nothing written in the matchday programme will ever change that.
