As a fanbase, we probably needed that
at 22:11 1 Nov 2023

A bit of a humbling and a reminder of what level we want to get to.

We didn't ever really get going, a lot of heavy legs and Fulham were just much sharper than us across the pitch.

Shame we conceded so early and with quite a bizarre bit of defending.

Felt sorry for Clarke, didn't look comfortable at left back and was given a torrid time by Wilson.

Axel, can tell he hasn't played for yonks. I think it will be a slow process getting him into the first team. I did laugh when he wiped out Clarke in the final min.

Walton, didn't cover himself in any glory. Could've done better with 2 goals and thought his distribution was pretty poor, Vlad will be sleeping easy tonight.

Shame Baggot and Humphreys didn't start tbh, but a nice moment for the former to get on the scoresheet.

Onwards to Brum on Saturday!

Morsy's Yellows
at 16:03 30 Oct 2023

So our skipper is currently averaging a yellow card every two games. If he carries on at that rate, he will be suspended just in time for...you guessed it...the Norwich game.

What do we reckon then? Get 4 more relatively quickly to be back in time? Or will he rein it in like last season? I have flash backs of Tom Lawrence stupidly getting a suspension the game before Nodge a few years back.

Thoughts on yesterdays game
at 10:57 30 Aug 2023

Slicker- all over the place for the first 10 mins, didn't have a lot to do after that. Good pen save.
Williams- thought he was unlucky with the OG, the most right footed left back I've ever seen. Grew into the game, still a little way off starting league games.
Fridge- I actually thought he was ok up until the 2nd goal. Looks like he has improved his distribution, but big error is what grabbed the headlines.
Baggott- Happy to have him as the LCB cover role this season after that- good game. Could be a big player for us in the near future.
Ball- Solid. Didn't really notice him tbh.
Evans- Our captains love a yellow card don't they? Lovely ball for 2nd goal, thought he did ok, hasn't changed his ranking as 4th choice CM though.
Taylor- Same as Evans really. Did ok, but Massimo in front of him for now.
Hutch- Thought he was our best player in the first half, always wanting to take on his man- with varying degrees of success. Good assist.
Harness- Some nice touches, didn't do enough in his 45mins though.
Humphreys- Actually thought he had a poor first half, right place for the goal though. Gave him confidence in the 2nd period. Would like to see him go out on loan to get more games.
Freddie- IMO he's A forward version of Wolfie. He has a very casual style, which doesn't look great when having a quiet game. Took his goal well, but not sure he's right for the forward role McK wants.

Aluko- I still think he would be a better option off the bench than Harness. So slick on the ball.

Ehibhatiomhan- I wonder if he might be someone we look at in the future for the forward position? Very composed finish for a 20 year old, seems quick and strong too. 5th goal of the season for him already.

The top 6 have been unstoppable this year
at 21:32 2 Apr 2022

Unbelievably we have closed in on the playoffs by just 3 points since McKenna has come in.
(16th Dec- IPSWICH 11TH- 28PTS// PLYMOUTH 6TH- 37PTS)

It really does seem like its going to be an 80+ points total needed just to get into the top 6- madness.

The damage was done at the start of the year under PC, but he left us just one point worse off (I appreciate we were on a downward trajectory) but just goes to show how unflappable the top teams in this division have been this season where we've only closed in minimally under the largely positive McKenna regime.

Here's to hoping we can be in and amongst it from the start from next season.
