Everton Takeover... not going well
at 00:43 9 May 2024

https://www.bbc.com/sport/articles/c3geyzlrmldo

"The takeover is yet to be ratified by the Premier League, who have set four conditions for 777 to meet before giving the green light.

777 has endured financial strife in the last couple of weeks and the Times has reported Moshiri is considering terminating the agreement."

Brandon Williams has been released
at 23:16 8 May 2024

It's a big NO from me! The guy needs rehab and looking after and I wish him all the best. Looks like he has been released from ManU but didn't even show up for his court date. Hit the 30 point limit and didn't give evidence as to who was driving the car.

We just don't need to take risks at this point of our ascension, we've had probs in this respect in the past.

However from what's going around tonight, he'd be a perfect fit for Nodge.

Benchmarking against Burnley summer transfer action
at 22:36 7 May 2024

Agreed opinions etc. I think the difference here is the bond McKenna makes with players. Ultimately it's the player who agrees a deal through his agent. Chelsea also hoover up a massive amount of young players. There is a deal to be done and might surprise us...take Hirst for example albeit a League below.

The McKenna affect might helps us because a) the player agitates for the move and b) one good season may not be replicated elsewhere we've seen that many times before.

I might be dreaming, but our recruitment is top notch which has got us to where we are.

Hello Ipswich fans

Not sure about that, people keep kicking out 20m plus numbers for players but that's a huge gamble for anyone outside the top 6 in the EPL.

Like Hirst, you'd like to think Hutchinson will want to be here next season. Offer a player good wages/bonues and you'll get their signature for south of 10m.

From watching them all season due to my better half. Fitness and Conditioning is an issue, along with poor recruitment and a crap attitude. It's a big example as to why money doesn't buy you success.

Too many highly paid players not performing... for me Fernandes while a quality players is noxious.

Come on Palace

Complete humiliation... players not up for it plus evidently a whole team injured. Not his fault the Club have spunked north of 500m, however some of his players aren't up for it either.

I'm sure Rashford would like a new home...

ManU are a shambles! Casimero, Erikson and several others for the bin. I actually feel for ETK but he will pay the price for the players not giving a crap.

My take away from watching that game was ManU are on the beach waiting for the FA Cup Final. Palace nothing special tactics wise but you can see the difference in close control and quick passing. Palace also have some serious physical specimens.

Edit: As my phone decided Cashmere played for United.

I believe Paul Lambert has big club experience.

At least we've secured McKs services next season. Who would want the Utd job, it's a basket case.

I literally said that to the Missus, who went on a rant saying we've been there before. Then after breathing she said the manager isn't the problem, while telling me Sir Alex wouldn't put up with this. I'm now staying quiet for the evening.

Considering the amount of money spent Utd exemplify what happens when you recruit badly. The bench is mainly U21s because they've so many injuries. Sound familiar??

On the plus side if this is the standard next year....

This! I was a bit surprised to see Ladapo on the pitch at the end as assumed he was with Charlton. However you could see all the players welcome him and KMC celebrating with him in the goal before the team photo. Just shows how tight this squad are no matter what happens.

Can see what you are saying, but thought Edmundsen was solid tonight as was Burgess. Burgess MOTM but Edmundsen was quality.

Sarmiento is a great flair player as we have seen but tonight he got stuck in and played the team game more than I had seen previously imho. He fought for every ball and worked back to help.

Thought he was immense tonight and really helped make us more defensively solid. Strong on the ball standing up and shepherding players wide.

Also Sarmiento thought he had his most effective game for us.

Sky commentators where effusive about Vas in that situation. Dragged from the front post to back post, went down for a save and scrambled to get back up hold his hands high.

It was an amazing save full stop and earned the 3 points!

Loved watching JD join in the celebrations at the end, and Walton too. One squad!
