I don't get to see Ipswich much but was lucky enough to sit right behind Mick at Fulham. Aside from watching and enjoying just how engaged and passionate he is with the side (to the extent of micromanaging each player "do this! do that!") I notice that he seemed to be on Bru's back for not following his instructions. Does he often drift in and out of games and incur Mick's wrath?
Seeing as I live one stop up in Blackheath it was rude not to go...and what an ending. I've been going occasionally since 1993 and can't remember a game with such a good noisy support and also a celebration for the goal (which I managed to get an audio of just as it went in!)
I rarely come on here so may be not seeing what others think but Mings looks like he will be a very good player one day even though he might make the odd mistake currently and it strikes me it's great to have Hunt's experience there (when he's not run himself into the ground). Great workrate throughout, although I thought we benefited from Charlton not making the most of their counter-attacks, but we seem fairly solid at the back.
It also seems that our side is either a) Irish or b) a Hipster (not that I'm complaining!)
Would love to see him do well, but am I alone in feeling a sense of deja vu? Short-term loans to fill gaps and bloat the squad? Haven't we seen this all before? You'd hope that the myriad players MM has brought it (like PJ and RK similarly) would be enough to give us a sturdy side.
Or am I simply being too naive and optimistic and is the Championship now the preserve of very few good players and Premier League loans? Anyhow, I hope it all works out.
Does anybody have the mathematical wherewithal to work out what with all the bottom clubs playing each other a lot whether we could still on points disregards goal difference for now - end up in the relegation zone? My guess is we still could.
