| News Comment | Life’s a Pitch Axed at 11:00:07
I listen to the program pre match all the time. Such a shame the BBC feels it is necessary to remove local programming in favour of regional and national stuff. That's completely at odds with the idea of setting up the local stations to start with. They may as well bin them off and launch Radio East Anglia or some such. How much does it actually cost to run the programme anyway. It's not as if the presenters are on Match of the Day salaries.... |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 3-2 Portsmouth - Match Report at 16:48:38
Thoroughly enjoyed the game and atmosphere there yesterday. Having watched back the highlights a couple of times, I can't see a reason for the second pen being given. Morsey kicked the ball away and the Pompey player was committed to tackling and collided with him. If anything it was a free kick to us. The first one was a typical 'striker kicks the ball past the goalie and then drags his foot into the keeper and falls over" they get given all the time in the modern game. Clever striker but the defending before that wasn't good enough. Look forward to more days like that at PR this season. Pompey spent the entire game either falling over, kicking our players or jumping into them when challenging for high balls. If they're top 4 material then we are deffo top 2. |

Great to know that it's returning as I used to listen every week. No idea why Radio Suffolk dropped it in the first place as it was so popular. Maybe Phil is taking a pay cut to let it come back ;) |
| News Comment | Blues Linked With Loan Move For Birmingham Striker at 09:49:03
One thing about loans that people forget is that their club will almost certainly be paying most of their wages based on their contract. As long as we are not breaking the bank with our contribution, we get a player we couldn't ordinarily afford. The positives are the... the host club get some contribution to the wages, the player gets regular games and a place to showcase themselves and we get a decent player for only part of their wage. I agree with others that too many loans is a short sighted model but who wouldn't say yes loans like to Celina, Lawrence and Fraser right now... |
| News Comment | Town Begin Safe Standing Discussions at 08:32:26
I used the safe standing at Shrewsbury's ground not long after it was installed. It was excellent. There is a seat there for when they are needed but, during the match, they are secured in the up position. There was also room in front for people to go past. Each row of seats has a barrier in front so no 'surges'. The atmosphere when standing is far better. It's a total no-brainer to install. |
| News Comment | Jewell: Championship Even Tougher Next Season at 11:20:34
StowTractorBoy has got it spot on. Every Prem team coming down has four years of 12m a year in parachute payments if they don't go back up. How is that fair and equitable? If they overpay players on long contracts without clauses in and then get relegated - tough they should be putting their finances in order. Why should clubs like ITFC be at a financial disadvantage to the tune of one and a half Connor Wickham sales every season?! Bottom line is the Premier League runs the show and the Football League just rolls over every time there is an issue. |
| News Comment | Town Topic: What Could Improve Matchdays at Portman Road? at 13:50:33
1. Shifting the away fans would be great so there is a challenge to the SBR Stand singers to keep going longer (as away fans always seem to be more up for it). At least then they wouldn't keep attacking the SAR stand for not singing. 2. If you can't shift the away fans for 'policing' reasons (which seems lame as away fans always used to be the west side of the North Stand when I first went in the 'old' days) how about recirculating the noise from the SBR stand to the sound system in the SAR stand, which would give some noise for the away fans to react to and might encourage the SAR stand to join in to get cohesive singing throughout. Add in the other two stands later if that works. 3. Cheaper tickets across the board. Bradford have £150 season tickets and sell far more than they ever would at £300 a pop and get massive gates for League Two as a result. Don't just discount matchday tickets as it alienates ST holders. 4. Decent music would help. It isn't rocket science to sort out something everyone can follow. |

| News Comment | Jewell: Important Not to Put Too Much Pressure on Wickham at 12:06:49
I am also sick of reading about Jordan Rhodes. At the time, there was a hint that we couldn't keep all the young players. It appeared to be a choice between the potential of Wickham - who was relatively unknown outside the club despite being a youth international - or Rhodes - who had put away several goals whilst out on loan. Wickham would have attracted very little in terms of a fee whereas Rhodes had a decent value put on him by Huddersfield. Decision - take the money. Fair enough imho. Also, at one time Rhodes was joint top scorer in League one with a certain Mr Lisbie and Nicky Forster. How many Town fans would be screaming for those two to be here? Case proven. End of. Get over it! PLEASE! |
