Happy Christmas Phil, Gav and Mark. Thanks for the continued excellent content. |

That's right Wickwar_Blue. Early in his Town career he took a massive amount of stick and very unfairly too. There was one game where a load of people held up red cards as a protest against him. It was all because people couldn't understand that he wasn't an out and out striker, his role was to hold the ball up and bring others into play. Can't remember any other Town player receiving treatment like that and to think that he was one of our own! |

Points 12 and 13 in their report are somewhat contradictory - how can they 'comfortably' say that he deliberately struck the Accrington player's face having said it wasn't easy to make out what had occurred? Silly boy for raising his hands regardless though. |

It is a bit Casio keyboard-esque but it is eminently singable and I think he is onto something. Definitely something that could be adopted (if not that recording). |
| News Comment | Cook: We Played Really Well, But You Just Can't Miss That Many Chances at 07:36:00
Poor first half that was similar to Saturday and no better than what we have seen for the past X number of years. Second half was fantastic and finally showed us what a Cook team is all about. Fast movement on and off the ball with decisive passing. Humphreys was a revelation. I have had some doubts but the second half showed me that we do need to be patient because the potential is there. |
| News Comment | Dyer: I Agree With Tyrone, Johnson and Patel Hypocrites at 17:58:57
I was there too and equally proud and disgusted at being English (the latter isn't something I have ever said, nor something I ever thought I would say). Proud because of the team and the vast majority of fans, but disgusted because it was just a seething pit of the worst elements of society. Gangs of people trying to bully and force their way in, coercing others to help them. Massive disregard for the safety and well-being of others both from a COVID perspective and just in general terms. Horrific attitudes towards fellow fans and the Italian fans, some of whom had the misfortune to have tickets in the 'English' section. I only felt safe when I was in my seat and even then people were kicking drinks all over the place and a guy kept coming up to the back to smoke a spliff! What I would say is that the majority were well-behaved, sporting and good natured, but I doubt this was easy to tell on TV. The majority where I was actually clapped the Italian national anthem rather than booed it. Just a shame that the decent folk were drowned out by the minority. |
| News Comment | Lee: Everything Should Be Based on Honesty and Paul Cook’s Your Man For That at 16:48:46
This interview has shifted my view a bit. I was very pro-Paul Cook when he came in, but with his 'demolition man' statement and related actions my concern was that we had a 'baby with the bathwater' situation a la Hurst and to some extent Keane - i.e. someone simply pooh-poohing everything that went before, particularly if they were failing to make an initial difference. However, Lee clearly knows the club, understands the heritage and at least had some links to a time pre-Evans when we had a more obvious and positive culture. If he is saying that the club was in a negative place and changes were needed, it gives me a greater sense of faith that Cook's actions are warranted and have the club's best interests at heart. |

What a totally cr@p thing to say blueboy1981. Do you ever focus on the positives? Unfortunately I managed to give you an uppie when I would have liked to have given you ten down votes to match your negativity! Great effort by the lads across the course of the season! |
| News Comment | Cornell and McGuinness in Team of the Week at 11:57:32
Funny how people watching the same game see different things. Mick Mills was slating McGuiness which whilst I could understand from a 'ball-playing' perspective, felt was harsh simply because he was getting his body in the way time after time. |
| News Comment | Cook: First Half Possibly the Worst Performance From One of My Teams in My Whole Managerial Career at 18:54:23
Spot on Phil1969. Not sure what he expects. I think he also needs to keep a lid on it now. I think he's now just saying things to try to protect his position which isn't in any doubt at this stage anyway. His honesty has been very refreshing, but now he's going too far and ends up contradicting himself. Save it Paul; we all know the situation and we all know things will change in the summer so let's just get through the last three games without the negativity because it no longer serves any purpose. |
| News Comment | Przybek Returns From Chesterfield Loan at 13:42:56
James Rowe is a very good up and coming manager and I think given his links with the club, could be a future Town manager. Fully trust what he is saying here.....albeit whether or not he would have fitted into the culture he is trying to create when he was younger is open to question! |
| News Comment | Cook: The Sunday Headaches Are Back But It's a Privilege at 13:21:51
"In my world, I think football's about playing off your front foot, it's about being expansive, progressive, passing the ball, looking good on the eye, but most of all winning." This. Absolutely this. |
| News Comment | Cook's First Town Press Conference - Part Two at 19:21:51
Whymark4 its proper Ipswich - Robson, Burley, Royle style passing football. Whenever his teams have come to Portman Road it has been a reminder to me what we used to have and just how terrible our style has been since Royle (I don't include Magilton in the bracket because his style of play as a manager was never as good as his style as a player). |
| News Comment | Training Suspended Due to Blue Action Protest Fire at 07:40:07
Whilst I do feel Lambert must go, there are ways and means and this isn't it. Up until now Blue Auction's protests have been well thought-out and given the circumstances, impactful. This one was impactful in all the wrong ways. Although the club may be pushing the truth in suggesting players' well-being was endangered, the use of flares so close to where training was taken place was far from sensible. In addition, whilst many of us would like our voices to be heard, breaking lockdown rules when there are far more important things going on (it doesn't make anyone less of a fan to acknowledge that!) is simply stupid. All they have now done is hand the moral high ground back to the club which let's be honest, really shouldn't be in any kind of position to thumb its nose at the fan base at this moment in time. All of the above obviously also overlooks the fact it was pretty embarrassing. Four or five lads with flares and flags isn't going to make Lambert walk or Evans take action, it just looks lame. But, moggasnotebook you are out of line and wide of the mark with your last paragraph. Phil and Gav have remained incredibly impartial given the circumstances. You may or may not have noticed, that unlike other local media they haven't done any opinion pieces, only balanced reporting of facts. In the context of an organisation unfairly (and with some of the club's tactics, boarder line illegally) trying to stifle your right to make a living, I am not sure you would show the restraint that Phil and Gav have, I know I wouldn't. If you believe that the reporting on here is negative then by all means don't read it and go elsewhere, otherwise please have a little more respect for those putting together decent content despite the unfairness of their position. |
