In reference to Hillsborough, that was a different era of policing. Not that that de-values your point or lived experience at all. I'm talking more about the recent times. I don't think something like that would happen again in modern times, just my opinion. But even though 1000 sounds a lot and maybe a few thousand more on top of that dotted around in many other forces around the country that's out of over 150,000 officers and probably a lot more than what there actually are. So no i don't agree with the rotten to the core statement. |

Sorry Bluelagos but i have to disagree with you there. There are far far more good officers than bad. The thing is that when officers are caught out it makes news, big news and quite rightly so as we hold officers to a higher level of accountability considering the purpose of their job and the powers they have over other members of the public. It's not not unheard of but how many stories get out there of officers doing good. Not many, other than the really heroic type of things. That's because it's their job, to do good things, investigate crime and also give out tickets and make arrests which might not appear all that good to the average person but go towards keeping society at a whole safe. The great majority of officers don't want the corrupt ones to get away with things and actually despise them just as much as you because of both the hurt they've caused and the damage they do to the reputation of all officers. |

Bluelagos, You're absolutely right and i'm in full agreement that a fair few more could do with being booted out. But i think you'll find it's the fellow corrupt officers that would look to protect their fellow corrupt colleagues. Ask any genuine officer and when they hear the likes of what some of these so called police officers have done they wince with shame and embarrassment. All they can do is carry on and do their duty. |

It was literally like a switch being flicked when the Tories came into power in 2010 for the police and no doubt all the other public services. I was a Tory supporter to my shame up until I could see what they were doing in the years to follow. Will always remember May's immortal phrases of "You will do more with less" and the classic when police officers tried to warn her of the inevitable consequences of her actions, "You are crying wolf". |

Regardless of who we do or don't manage the sign my main worry is losing KM. Its almost been a negative that we've done so well. I say this because it's made the club and more importantly KM a lot higher profile than if we'd have been just doing ok in the Championship. Now I'm worried that if we don't make it to the Prem this time around that we'll be very vulnerable to him being poached by a top 8 prem club. I don't think he'd leave for a low level prem team but top 8 i think he'd go for it and the compensation wouldn't be an issue for those clubs. Of course i hope i'm wrong but its a worry. |

| Forum Reply | The new shirts - children's sizing at 05:55 28 Aug 2022
I actually took my 9 yr old daughter in the other day to see how they fit. She's slim and average height for a girl of her age and the 9-10 came up a bit tight on her so we went for the 11-12 size which seemed a perfect fit for her. Hope that helps. |

No doubt you’re probably right about this. I also agree that to see people protesting on Russian streets, that’s incredible bravery in a state like Russia. |

Again, I can't even to begin to imagine what your extended family must be going through. This whole situation is a disgrace and I worry that by not coming to Ukraine's aid militarily that we are almost inviting Russia to go even further in the future. I appreciate that there are many reasons why we and other nations are holding back, reasons that are no doubt beyond my understanding but it's frustrating all the same. I can only hope that the brave men and women of Ukraine can hold them off and eventually force them back into Russia. |

Absolutely no way to defend this at all. Police got their hands seriously burned when they dared to investigate the expenses scandal and ended up searching MP offices. Been public enemy number 1 to the government ever since. |

Are you seriously suggesting that was heavy handed policing? An encounter with an officer will always be dictated by the person he/she is dealing with. I mean if the individuals that were asked to leave had just left then that would have been where it ended. Anyway I’m done on this now, there’s no reasoning with stupid. I know it’s my own fault for making a comment on here to start with though. |

Ah yes, those same women that were told the protest was not authorised the day before. Those same women that still decided to rock up anyway and then cause a massive fuss and were so indignant when they were told they would have to leave the area as police were also trying to protect the public in the midst of a global pandemic. They were only arrested and taken away as a last resort having been asked and then warned countless times, don’t take my word for it, there’s plenty of YouTube videos showing this. |
