Dirtymagee....thank you for saying it. The term 'nothing to play for' is just pathetic. Managers jobs depend on it, players contracts depend on it, their fans will demand a performance. When I used to play cards against my Gran for the last piece of cheese on toast, it was intense. Sportsmen by their very nature are competitive creatures. For football fans to question a clubs integrity shows just how easily influenced some can be simply by listening to morons on TV. It's impossible to predict what will happen, as the results over the past six games have made little sense. If we miss out, it's still been an incredible effort. Man for man we've been up against two sides who have far greater quality than ourselves, so to take it this far, and still have it in our hands is remarkable. Since Xmas I've been saying we'd finish third and lose to Norwich in the play off semi. Sickeningly I still can't see beyond that. With West Brom and Soton also in there, the play offs will be harder to win than trying to finish second. As with Mr Magee above, I'm heartened by the fact that my predictions have been appalling this season, meaning that next August we'll probably be starting with an 8-0 defeat at the Etihad. |

Always fear the team that has 'nothing to play for'. I'd sooner be playing a team riddled with nerves than one playing with a freedom. I hate stats, but it's been proven over and over that a team 'on the beach' more often beats the team with something riding on it. It's ridiculous and insulting to believe that professional athletes will turn up simply to make up the numbers. It's never been the case, regardless of whether Clinton Morrison or Paul Merson tells you otherwise. We'll have to win the games by being better than the opponent. Anything else will lead to a complacency. And if the manager and players adopt the same attitude as the fans, we've no hope. |

This is good news. My mates over in Bristol had suggested a few weeks ago that he should be sent back to us immediately. Their criticism of him was scathing. Thinking it was a wind up I checked the Rovers twitter page, where similar comments were being posted. Surprising, as I'd always thought he'd performed very well when called upon by us, and would have had no issues about him being used in our first string this season. Glad he's now settled, as he definitely has a successful future ahead of him. |

I'd have Walton as No1 every day of the week. Hladky puts the sh*ts up me since we started the 'faffing about at the back' nonsense. A decent shot stopper and instinctive keeper, who has nearly but not quite been bad enough to drop. The Norwich goal was poor. It had neither the pace or dip to have been considered threatening. Overall, he's been far better than I thought he'd be after his poor initial showings for us, but I'd certainly let him go ahead of Walton. |

I think he has a point. Yes we had a nailed on penalty not given, but their disallowed goal was ridiculous, and the other one very tight, which personally looked level. We played the poorest of the three contenders, but have been rewarded with a near perfect set of results. |

On seeing Troy Deeney and Nigel Pearson in the studio, and then realising we had a female commentator, I knew it was gonna be a tough watch. An awful performance then followed. For weeks my 'neutral' mates have been remarking that we are 'dogsh*t'. It aptly describes this showing. But somehow we grind it out despite inviting a very poor opposition an equaliser. But thankfully we were helped by some ridiculously soft refereeing decisions. I'm sure I'll find some crumbs of comfort when I analyse it more thoroughly. Being top papers over it for now, but performances like this will not see us over the line. Sorry for the honesty. |
