| News Comment | Warnock Linked Again But No Contact With Town at 06:57:11
literally no point in short term fixes, barring a major miracle this season is over so whatever we do we need to make plans for next season and beyond, therefore Warnock isn't the answer as he plans to retire this summer. |
| News Comment | Former England Skipper Lampard Interviewed By Town at 21:44:22
Certainly understand why ME would want to interview several candidates before making an appointment and no harm in interviewing Frank, people need to get over the superstar player stigma,Thankfully Roy Keane is a one off, Lampard is a completely different personality who is intelligent, articulate and is probably destined to be a top manager, and thats my big problem with appointing such a person I dont want us to be a stepping stone to bigger better things, wouldnt be upset if he was appointed but would prefer somebody who may be here for the long haul |
| News Comment | Skuse is Good Enough for the Premier League at 08:40:02
I think skuse will prove to be an excellent signing but would like to see us play 3-5-2 with cressy and hewitt at wingbacks, this would give us an extra man in the middle of the park to help out hyam and skuse as feel that although they are both excellent footballers they are a little bit leightweight and need someone in there to do the ugly stuff for them |
| News Comment | Reading Midfielder Tabb Linked at 05:27:46
short term deal yes but not a long term solution, the type of squad player we need but not the answer to our lack of creativity in midfield, hard working, industrious and energetic but doesn't score goals (5 in 312 games)would be a useful addition as a squad player though |
| News Comment | Town 1-1 Barnsley at 21:12:43
back in September many people on here were delighted with a point away at Barnsley, it shows that the level of performances have gone up and with that the level of expectation, as dissapointing as today was it is a point gained, bad day at the office and move on to next week, which will also be a tough game, Barnsley and Bristol City have newly appointed managers and that always makes them tough games, next week will be O'driscolls first home game so I'd settle for another point thank you very much. |
| News Comment | Trialist Returns to Banbury at 15:12:50
Mattinlondon, unfortunately I manage the sunday team he plays for rather than the team just below the conference, hence my ignorance in recommending players, we don't get many potential stars in the Reading sunday league premier division, thanks for the advice all |
| News Comment | Trialist Returns to Banbury at 22:28:10
this is a genuine question, who do I get hold of to recommend somebody for a trial, I have a lad plays for the team I manage and I swear given the oppurtunity and a bit of professional coaching he could be very good. have looked on the club website and can see nothing on there. hes currently playing in a league just below the conference and he stands out a mile, he oozes class and has electric pace !! |
| News Comment | New Signings Should Spark JET at 11:11:17
I for one would love to keep him at the club, he's only 22 and still learning the game, if MM and TC have time to work with him on the training ground I am sure they will bring the best out in him, he just needs a bit of TLC and given time he will produce the goods, he is undoubtedly a very talented footballer and has natural ability and every team needs a mixture of grafters and footballers, it is essential we hold on to players such as JET to take us forward and players such as him, Hyam, Hewitt and Creswell are integral to the long term future and success of the club |
| News Comment | McCarthy's Wolves Scouts Depart at 12:35:05
if as it appears they are about to join us they have a lot of work to do before January's transfer window, you would assume they have a list of players that they were already scouting so up to Clegg and co to do their bit and bring them in, something he failed to do with the majority of Jewells targets, happy days ahead hopefully |
| News Comment | Town Interview Shearer at 22:34:04
be a bit suprised and slightly underwhelmed if this did happen, although with SC and ME appointing anything could happen,if their so called advisors have recommended Shearer then I would suggest that they need some new advisors |
| News Comment | Hutchings Disappointed But Focused on Saturday at 17:49:33
Hutchings is a capable and well respected coach, take it from me as have attended courses with him, fact is PJ was the manager and picked the team, tactics etc he was the boss. although it has to be said that whenever Hutchings has forayed into management he has been extremely poor which shows there is a big difference between being a coach and being a manager, when alls said and done the likelyhood is that he and most of the other back room staff will also lose their jobs very soon when the new manager comes in. |
| News Comment | Burley Interested in Old Job at 12:21:18
if we are led to believe by SC looking for an experienced manager then GB does fit the bill, I'm not convinced it would work but has as much appeal to me as Curbishley or McCarthy, would like somebody younger with new ideas and a fresh approach but it may need somebody of this ilk for the short term, would like to see the coaching team be appointed from within the club or players with an association with ITFC, Dozzell, Milton, Yallop etc this obviously depends on their skills but would help to galvanise the new management team with the fans |
| News Comment | Clegg: Long List of 34 Names at 17:35:07
I dont care if its Mickey Stockwell or Mickey Mouse as long as they make us win football matches again |
| News Comment | Clegg: Long List of 34 Names at 17:27:16
"first of all we've pulled together a list of names ourselves, in terms of the owner, myself and the owner's advisors, but a number of people have applied. The phone has been red hot since midday today.” god help us all after the last two appointments these clowns made between them !!!! |
| News Comment | Clegg: Tipping Point Was Reached at 17:24:08
what an arrogant pompous p***k you are Clegg, if you had any bo**ocks you would fall on the same sword that PJ has but you are far to obnoxious and full of your own self importance to realise that you have a big part to play in the demise of Ipswich Town Football Club |
| News Comment | Town Topic: Who Next for Town? at 14:41:06
Solksjaer,Paulo DiCanio or Butcher with a young assistant a la Matt Holland, although I suspect we may play it safe and will end up with Curbishley, McCarthy or Hoddle, either way I would be happy and it would give us some hope for the future |
| News Comment | Jewell to Speak to Evans In Morning at 11:33:26
This is a stand off between ME and PJ, ME won't sack him as it will cost a few quid, PJ won't resign as it will cost him a few quid in lost earnings, one of these d**kh**ds needs to give very soon if they genuinely have the best interests of ITFC at heart, I believe that Jewell may well do the decent thing today, all be it a few weeks too late.ME then needs to find a few new football friends to advise on the new manager as whoever has advised him before has got it very very wrong on the last two occasions, get back to basics, appoint from within the club or somebody with an affinity for ITFC and awareness of the history and traditions that took many years of hard work to put in place. |
| News Comment | Town 1-2 Derby County at 00:40:19
think you will find PJ may do the decent thing and walk tomorrow(if he has any pride left at all) |
