Did exactly that when magilton scored his 3rd against Bolton in 2000 play off semi final while all around me was carnage. The other thing I remember was people in front of me left to go home then came back for extra time

Before sky was ever thought of the first sign of making the rich richer and the poor poorer was in 1983 ironically when Thatcher was PM . Before 83 when Ipswich played away to Man Utd Ipswich would get 20% of the gate receipts and when united came to Ipswich utd would get 20% of are gate receipts. Which made it a more level playing field as Utd averaged about 45000 and we averaged 20,000 But the big clubs complained about having to share their gate money and it got changed so the home club kept all the money and IMO that’s when the first division got less competitive. Look at the winners in the 70 s Everton Arsenal Derby Liverpool Leeds Nottingham Forest 6 different winners in 1 decade after 83 Liverpool Everton Arsenal and Leeds won the first division title in the next 10 years and all 4 of those teams we’re amongst the best supported teams in the country

Yes you’re correct Keno 4 pens we had 2 and the scum had 2 I was in the same pen as you . We always had 2 pens when we went to carrot rd . Back in the day the north stand had 4 pens but the scum only ever got to fill one pen we always had the other 3

Not very good with faces Keno especially ones from 47 years ago but I do remember the police escort to the ground an all the houses with smashed windows and windows boarded up . Man Utd had been there the week before and pretty much ran riot through scum land you can go on YouTube and see 1 Man U fan on the roof of the Barclay stand and fall through it

Remember it like it was yesterday my first game in the Barclay stand as a 13 year old 1-0 to town Whymark the scorer to put us top of the league. Beattie had his accident the next day which was Easter Sunday.

Reading about some fans going to Charlton tomorrow and being in the Charlton section takes me back 41 years when we played Norwich on Easter Monday and unusually for a league match it was all ticket . Me and 3 other lads couldn’t get tickets in the Barclay stand so we to Norwich a week before the game and got 4 tickets for the river end has we all come from Lowestoft we had no problem getting the tickets as are accents were no different. So on the day of the game we arrive in Norwich at 12 o’clock we in a pub full of Ipswich supporters and there were about 25 who had tickets in the river end so we all went to the ground together . We go in the river end not 1 person had a scarf on and within 10 minutes the police come in and put all of us behind the goal while they decided what to do with us eventually we got escorted round the side of the pitch and were put in the Barclay end where we wanted to be in the first place . But here is the funny thing while we waiting weheard from the river end F of Ipswich F of Ipswich when I looked up it was MR Swallow and all his crew all singing it as they stood amongst the Norwich supporters. To this day I don’t know how the police knew we were Ipswich supporters the only conclusion I could come up with was we all have 8 fingers and 2 thumbs

That’s why you don’t have a right footed central defender playing on the left of a back 3 he’s obviously not comfortable on his left foot. I think that’s the reason he got dropped for Burgess

This is my first post and IMO the players who are out of contract are just going through the motions now.Their know their won’t be here next season so there not bothered about making the playoffs there main priority is not to get injured so their can sign for another club on a free in the summer most of them will get league 2 clubs and a couple will get league 1 clubs
