Help!! Tournament Advice

Hey,

Looking for some advice.
I am setting up an inter club tournament at my club in pre season. Problem I have got is there are 7 teams and only one pitch available.
What would be the best tournament set up as 7 is an awkward number?

Ideas I have got are:
1. Two groups, one of 3 and one of 4, round robin in the group and then top two from each group go through to semi final and final. Problems with this is - you could potentially have a lot of time standing around. Also if you are the team in the group of 3 and that doesn't make the semi finals you won't get many minutes.
2. Straight knock out competition. One team gets automatic bye to semi final. Problem with this again is, the teams that get knocked out only play one game!
3. One big group of 7 teams. Everyone plays random 3 games, top two go through to a final. Problems - the 3 games you play are completely random and you may play the best three teams or the worst 3 teams.

Any ideas/ suggestions or thoughts on the above would be very helpful!
