Great performance and effort from the lads. Subs did really well when they came on. So unlucky not to nick it in the end. Their keeper was definitely the busiest of the two… we do look shaky at the back mind and for that reason I didn’t think my nerves can take the playoffs. I’m going for 2 wins from the last couple of games and us to pip Leicester to the top. COYB
You cannot question the effort this team is putting in. Frustrating not to get the win…. Yes!! ….. but the effort was there for all to see. Vas MOTM.. on any other day we would have scored 2 or 3 in the first half. COYBs
Another 4 games I can’t watch on TownTV via I live abroad. Subscribing to the TownTV package has been an absolute waste of money. But on the positive side I’m glad we are doing so well and getting the recognition for it via more coverage :)
I too am making a rare visit to the comments section. Wishing everybody a very merry Christmas from Stavanger, Norway. Hoping to make a trip over to watch a game before the end of the season. Splendid job as always from TWTD. The coverage you provide day to day is remarkable and very much appreciate by us fans. Oh… and happy new year to everyone
I actually thought we played reasonably well. We're a constant threat in attack and harassed and closed down with a high press. If it wasn't for Walton having an uncharacteristically off game we would have won. We will be right up there at the end of the season. Up the town 💙💙
Prob 90% possession. Guilty of missing 2 or 3 good chances to go ahead. Wigan hardly in the game with, their players play acting, keeper wasting time (gives chance for team to re group- prob pre planned before kick off). Second chance on goal and they score. Had to be kean!! Just imagine where would be if we had an inform strike force. Oh do I miss the days of Stewart and Armstrong
Since the Wigan Game we have played relatively well and been really pleasing on the eye with the last two against wycombe and Gilliamgham being the pick of the bunch, so I was kind of expecting a drop in performance today. Whilst watching the game it was obvious some of our more consistent performers such as Edmundson and Donacian were having off games and then you have Evans and penny who both had poor games. So overall an under par performance and we couldn't match the intensity and energy that we have recently shown. I thought we looked a little lethargic, especially in the middle, dwelled on the balls to long and made a few basic errors. Bolton on the other hand I thought played well and always looked to play a positive and penetrative pass, took their chances and deserved to win. Not the end of the world by any means…. Just frustrating as we couldn't match the quality of our recent form
Well we were certainly more robust after going 1:0 up that's for sure! I really like the way K-Mck put his arm around and gave his players personal messages after the game. That speaks volumes for me. I know it's early but I'm feeling quietly positive about this appointment.
He sounds as dull as dishwater which i thinks going to work against him when he tries to motivator the most bone idol bunch of players we have evner had on the history of ITFC. You dont need a tactical genius at this level just someone with half a brain that can organize and get the best out of players. But what do I know!!! Good luck to him if he gets it…. He will need it that's for sure…
Firstly ntoms97 that post is worthy of a bollinger award. Brilliant!!! Secondly why am earth did the board stick with cook and allow him to spend their millions if he wasn't their first choice? What an absolute waste of time and money. Didn't watch the match but I now feel that the club is on a dangerous tipping point beyond the point of no return. It seems the club is loosing its identity and I fear their will be a distinct gap between both fans and the local committee of the right manager isn't appointed. Maybe I'm wrong in saying this but someone With a link to the club that actually genuinely care and understands what the club means to us fans. Perhaps not Mc greal after this result and the last. Such a shame as all Seemed so bright back in the summer….
Finished watching the game feeling envious of the togetherness and work ethic that Charlton had. We are a million miles from that. Still look like strangers on the pitch with player combinations on selection just not working. That said…. Nobody turned up tonight apart from Walton. Team looked deflated and void of any enthusiasm. If the board want to turn this around and give us a chance on reaching the playoffs they need to act very quickly. I feel a bit for JM tonight!!
Its always nice to win but not good feeling so deflated at the end of the match due to a lackluster performance. How cook cannot see that Fraser isn't the slowest player in entire football league is beyond me. Just falls over when opposition player catches up with him and fails to cover his designated area. Playing him and evens together is pure suicide, evens dwells on the ball too much when In possession, can't be arsed to check over his shoulder and passes sideways or to an opponent. It's no coincidence that the worst section of our play today came in the last 20 minutes when both were on the pitch.
Despite my rant I really want cook to succeed but I can't help thinking that any decent coach/manager would spot this immediately and iron it out. He may be a good man manager but his ability to put the right blend of players together and vary his tactics in order to challenge the opposition are questionable.
Thought aluko, donacion, clements, edwards when on (despite the miss) and celina did well. Love Bonne but lashed at two very easy chances. Lucky not to throw the game away at the end and if wasn't for such poorly calculated subs it would have been a lot more comfortable.
Your not gunna get crosses in the box with 3 number 10's on the pitch are ya??? If you wanted penetration you could have stuck with edwards (who had some good spells against Sunderland) and played KVY infront of donacian. Just a thought!!!
