I'm trying hard to enjoy this but finding it difficult! Its a bit like watching us at our worst. Defending deep in numbers, slow on the ball and giving the ball away. I've watched a couple of games and there seems to be a lot of poor football with the odd bit of great skill out of nowhere. Is this a true reflection of what women's football is all about?
With Henderson possibly on his way back all the talk is about who will be number 1 next and the competition will be good for the keepers. I understand that competition for places can have a positive effect on outfield players but it can unsettle a goalkeeper and cause them to lose confidence. Just take a look at the Premiership how many of the number 2 keepers are really any good and actually challenge the number 1? Brad Jones, Ross Turnbell, Pantallon (Man City)(sorry cant spell) Minone (Arsenal) and many others I can't even name sit on the Premier bench without really being a viable option to getting into the first team and keeping their place on merit. Few teams rotate their keeper and one team that did Southampton had a very poor defensive record In my opinion if Henderson comes it could spell the end for Loach. Henderson will not come here to sit on the bench and will expect to be number 1. Loach did well at the back end of the season but being dropped will again knock his confidence and he may not be any good for Town. Henderson is probably the better keeper, but not by as much as some say on here, so is it worth getting a player that may finish Loach and if there is a recall could leave us in as bad a situation as we have been in the last few years.
