Huws Keen to Build on Promising Debut

Positive. Goes Forward. Attacking! How long before McCarthy knocks that out of him. See Freddy Sears.

No Douglas Red Card Appeal
at 15:11:14

The worst thing about this is the potential revival of the Skuse/Hyam partnership. It just results in us playing backwards, and even more long balls. Either Skuse or Hyam, but not together. I would like to see Skuse & Bru holding, and Pitman in front of them. Remember how good Pitman was at the head of the diamond at Charlton?

McCarthy: Top Two Now Unlikely
at 15:29:19

Mick says the team know how to defend corners. At least 50 times this season they have been caught out from short corners, as in first two goals here. You need 2 defenders to mark 2 attackers!

McCarthy: We Let Our Guard Down
at 15:43:00

I very much agree with Truthhurts. With the players we have, 3-5-2 seems the way to go, with Hewitt and Cresswell good attacking wingbacks. Skuse and Tunnicliffe as holding midfielders, and Taylor joining in with front two. We won't see this, however, as Mick does not look beyond 4-4-2, and playing his "wide" men narrow. It's so easy for younger, brighter managers to counter.
Most goals this season have come courtesy of McGoldrick's brilliance. Without him we are still bottom three. Mick can get one thing right.

4 away games. 2 goals scored. 1 point. A long hard season.

McCarthy Weighing Up Changes
at 15:21:33

The Worrying thing is that McCarthy thinks it was right tactically. He was out-thought by McDermott in the second half. McCarthy plays an inflexible 4 - 4 - 2 no matter what. The defeat on Saturday was down to the manager.

Nemesis Nugent a Doubt

I don't believe he won't play. Remember the away game. If he does play everyone should refrain from booing, as it only encourages him even more. Better to give him the silent treatment.

Town Topic: Who Next for Town?
at 15:48:07

Keith Hill is the best choice by a mile. Good record in lower league and with tight budget at Barnsley. Best case scenario is that he brings Craig Davies with him.
