The wistful part of me wants to say Darren Bent's winner vs Wigan late on at home which should have been a massive highlight of a promotion season in 04/05 (the game where Baines scored that rocket to the top corner), but turned into blowing a 6 point lead with (3?) consecutive defeats later on. |

Nerd alert: I am fairly confident 2000/01 highlights at least was on the BBC I.E. MOTD. I am sure Lineker made some gag around Christmas time saying the top 3 was the usual boring predictable Man Utd, Arsenal and Ipswich. |

I was at both the Sheff Utd and Walsall last game of the season matches, talk about deja vu with the hope turning to despair, but the thing I remember most vividly is this weird vacuum cleaner thing they were using on the Portman Road pitch during half time of that Crewe game, because there was an absolute deluge and the pitch was in danger of being completely waterlogged. I wish they hadn't bothered and it had been replayed! |
